I know of 1-2 other Kastle's, although spelled Kassel. We call him Loppy a LOT (I know, very dignified). I started calling him Kastle-Tassle-lopolus and then Kastle-lopolus and then lop to Loppy lol. Who knows...
Sloan more than anything is called Nop. Sloany, Nopper Dop, Popper Dop, Demonchild or Snippy in reference to her nose.

Backup is Bear, Spaz, Freak.

Shamoo is Moo or Cow.

Arnold is noodle bear or doodlebutt.

Why I even name is a mystery. lol

I don't think any of my animals have super unique/original names... Especially Joey. I actually don't like people names for dogs at all but it really does fit him honestly.

Bamm is also called Bamma Lamma Ding Dong and Bamma Ramma. We also call him Bammas

Cricket is crickster trickster, crickee, crickee bug, the bug, buggaboo, snatch (don't ask lol), queen bitch...

Joey is just Joey most of the time... Oh and he is also asshat though I know that isn't original either hahaha.

Whiskey is called Whisk or Whiskadoodledoo most of the time

Snake names on the other hand...
Aneira and Serkan are pretty unique I'd say.

Most of my fiends are nerds so I know a gambit, an spca special, another friend has a flattie named mulder and a lab named Dana, lol. Another friend has a boxer/pit mix named Blade, all kinds of sci-fi names.

Cali is definitely not a unique name, but I can't imagine calling her by anything else... it fits her perfectly. As for nicknames, I have dozens... the most commonly said are: gremlin, demon dog/puppy, booger nut, honey muffin, turkey butt... I think I may have the most embarrassing nicknames for her in the history of dog ownership. :p I try to limit myself to Cali or gremlin in public though.

Moses... is a pretty unique name. I named him when I was five and I can still remember sitting in church and the minister asked the kids, "what are some things in the Bible that start with M?"... I shout out "Moses! My dog!" and the whole congregation laughed. A lot of people still get a laugh out of it, but we mostly call him Mo or Mobo. Apparently my initial name choice was Jesus so thank goodness my parents made me compromise with Moses.

I really like original names, but not names that are so odd or unique that I find them more strange than anything.
This is me. I will often LIKE a bit more off-the-wall or unique names, but can't actually see myself calling my dog that in real life, if you know what I mean.

I like a lot of "last names for first names" kind of thing. Obviously Jackson... and names like Tanner, Lincoln, Harper, Sawyer, Parker, Walker, Miles, etc. Those have always been on my list. I also liked Wyatt, for a while. I'm almost positive next dog will be named Jonah. It's been one of my favorites for a long time (the kid in Sleepless in Seattle is named that, LOL, always loved it since I saw that) and I like names to go together and think Jackson and Jonah sound good together.

I still like the name Jackson and can't imagine him being anything else, honestly... but it wouldn't be my first choice anymore. I find it doesn't flow off the tongue very easily so I wind up calling him 'Jax' a lot. But I remember literally staring at his picture that I had before I got him and trying to come up with something else and I just couldn't. Jackson was just sticking. He looked like a Jackson. At the time, it was somewhat unique, but I've met a lot of little kids recently with the name. Only ever met one other dog though.

I think silly names are adorable too (I met a Butter & Waffles at the dog park) but I just... couldn't get myself to do it! I don't know why. It's just not me. I think if I had a cat, I'd name it something silly, but not a dog.

I didn't think Elsie would be an unusual name, but I haven't met another dog named Elsie.

I wanted to name her Else, but didn't want to explain it to everyone I met. :D Even with Elsie, I have to explain it a few times. I'm like, but it's a name...?

I've never met another Zobby, either.

We had a 3 legged foster that we loved name Legolas.
Our 3 legged cat is named Allegro. :D

Don't have any names picked out ahead of time, usually have to meet the animal (dog/cat/horse) first. With the dogs, I'll probably keep with the Irish theme - Murphy, Michaleen, Riley... not that interesting but I like them. :) Might name the next dog, Fisher, if it fits, because that was my great grandfather's last name (he was from Dublin).

The cats always get the weirder names, just seems to work better with them.
Jack Scratch
Lucille Claw
Nicholas Caged
Purrl Bailey
Margaret Scratcher
Joan Clawford
Robert E. Flea
Oliver Hissed
Zasu Spitts
Rosalind Rustled
Lionel Scritchey
LucyFurr
Jéan Clawed Kittee
Black Jack Purring
Feline Dion
Ava & ZsaZsa (aka the Gabor sisters), because they like to slap the other cats for no apparent reason

I often don't end up using names I pre-picked fro puppies but I did with Jora and with Whimsy. Savvy was going to be Fig/Figment but he just seemed like a Savvy. Now at agility trials I have heard "oh so and so just got a puppy and named him/her that" a few too many times :/

I have always wanted to name a bitch Jezebel for the play of it.
That is my Belle's name! I didn't name her though. I really did not want Belle the Belgian. I guess I should have changed her to Jez when I decided to keep her. But she was already Belle by then. Now she's Miss Belle, Belly, Bell-dog.

Rooster is one of Roust's many nicknames. Roustiroo, Roo, Rooey, Rooster, Rooster Booster, Rooby, Rousterbouster. Just too much fun with his name LOL

I don't know and have never heard of any other Rousts. Although I kninda wanted to call him Sketchy. Because Sketchy the Malinois is really funny to me.

But off the top of my head, I have always wanted to name my dogs these names -- Ricochet, Ruon, Aero, and Matryx. Those are my 4 favorite names in the whole world, and honestly I have no idea why. (Oh look they're all male names, go figure.)
I know a female Ricochet! :D

I've never met another Teagan yet, When she was a pup I was bouncing between the name Emmee and Teagan and of course Teagan won.

I am trying to come up with some unique names for my future Boerboel pup, but its freaking hard. So far we just have the name Griffin.

I lived with a black lab/st Bernard mix last year named Teagan. :)

I do love Whimsy, it's such a great name and seems perfect for a flowing, smooth moving, graceful dog (I'm thinking of all of those times belgians aren't dorks that run into **** :p ). Savvy is another favorite for sure, I think it was a good choice over Fig. :)

Oh god if we're going to get into nicknames I could write a book.

Pipper, Peeper, Creeper, Pip Dip, Pipperoni Pizza, Pip Pip Hooray, Good Pip Lollipup, Mr. Peepers, Peeper Dog... and various combinations.

Maiser Beam, Maisy Bee, Maisy Bee-Hind, Maisy May, Maisy Mayhem, Amazer, Pretty Pants...

Puppy Pants, Squish Squash, Squishy Wishy, Quishy Pants, Quishy Wish, Squashy Washy, Squashies, Squashers, and various other combinations.

I've never met another canine Kim but there are obviously a lot of human ones...has made for some interesting moments over the years. I still am accidentally called Kim by a few people I only know through dog sports and who I see very infrequently.

I've only heard of one other Webster, but have no idea what sort of dog he is. Just saw his name on the steward sheet at a trial farther from home than we normally go. They were in Novice and I haven't seen them since so no idea if they stuck with agility.

I know two other Miras, both through agility. A Sheltie and a Golden Retriever. Didn't know either existed when I named my girl as they were in different states.

Given the sheer number of dogs I come in contact with, 3 repeats really isn't bad. And honestly even if they were common names I wouldn't care...their names fit them perfectly, roll off the tongue well, and are easily shortened to a single distinct syllable for fluent use on course.

I'm having a hard time coming up with future puppy's name. We're set to get a female, and girl names are SO hard. Most of my favorite dog names are male names. Plus it's got to live up to Henry's awesome name; Henry Christopher Peabody Smith. The Peabody came from calling him Sweet P and my maiden name starting with a P. It just morphed into Peabody when he was two or three. Now when we are talking about him we call him Mr. Pea or Peabody. :rofl1:

I LOVE the name Sloan, but don't want to be a copycat lol. My only girl names so far are:

Ledare
Karter
Ruthie
Phoenix
Darcy
Devi
Drew
Grace
Falon
Bug
Kobe
Bean-Yeah, we're basketball fans.
