lol Hubby keeps threatening to name our next dog Garlic, solely because it's the worse name he's thought of so far. Evil.
Then you could be a pirate for recalls! "GAAAAAAAAAR!!" Unless you go with Lic....which would be a little weird.

I guess my dog's are kinda unique. I've never met a Mu or a Tipper (although Murphy is pretty common). Tipper is the only one that consistently goes by nicknames though - Tips, McGee, Monster, Monster McGee, OY YOU, and Orange Dog. Murphy gets Fluffybutt and MurphyPants. And Mu gets Mu Mu Moody MUUUUU (usually when she's ignoring me when we're working) or Mu Mu Cachoo (don't you judge me :rofl1:).

I don't actually have a list of names for our next dog. Murphy came from the shelter as Sarge (ugh) and I named him on the way home. Mu was nameless for a couple days and then was named for her grass eating tendency (why I spelled it Mu I don't know). And Tipper was originally Daisy and stayed Daisy for two days while I talked Matt out of naming her Fish or Gir. I'm not really opposed to Fish or Gir but they're not names that are easy to yell and thus should be reserved for cats and/or other animals that I don't need to train a recall with. Lol.

Our kid is going to share a fairly uncommon name with a human on Chaz. Which Matt came up with and is the ONLY one we agree on. So it had better fit. :lol-sign:

I'm waiting for the first opportunity to steal the name. If it's a kid, then so be it!
Ha! enjoy, it's a fun name and I am not sure if I can top it, just be sure the dog can actually Backup, you'll get that question a lot.

I really wanted a big tough dog to be able to say "this is Backup, my Backup, like police backup," with a grin. Now however, as spazzy as he is, unless we're actively working Bitework people chuckle and say, "like he's your backup dog if the first one doesn't work out?" :p

Shambles was almost Havoc, but I'm e-friends with someone with a Havoc and it didn't feel right to take her name. Shambles is an amazing name (thanks to Sass) that I doubt I'll top, though I doubt I'll find a dog to top Sham. I haven't heard of any other dogs named Smalls (I've seen Biggie Smalls, but please. Sandlot people) and while Jack is a regular old name he IS District Attorney Jack McCoy by name.

My old house rabbit's name was The Wooden Spoon, after the spoon that Rumplestiltskin flew around on. She was awesome.

We're getting brother rats from rescue in the next couple weeks (paid and approved, waiting for the foster people to figure out transport). Mine is gonna be named Fairy Kisses, Fairy for short, his brother owned by my sis, probably Abby (short for Abraham). The girls are Captain America (mine) and my sister's rat is Captain's sister Jo(sephine), so we've got a weird theme going. ;)

I was quite surprised to see someone else had an animal named Steve on here. :rofl1:

I like anything unique, honestly as long as it's not "the next hottest trend", the one that got to me the most recently is the use of the name "Ziva" by so many people who couldn't seem to spell it, or, maybe they did misspell it intentionally because they knew it would be over used?

Anyway, I also think that a name should "fit" a dog too, I have a small list of maybe-someday-names but may never get to use many of them because I've found that the list usually goes all out the window once we get to the time of bringing home the next dog.

Honestly, I do still cringe every time I think that Noodle was actually first "Oscar", his previous owner had registered him as Oscar UGH! IMO, it has become the absolute least creative name in the history of the Dachshund breed. When he came to us as Noodle, it pretty much stayed, although he comes better to "Noody".

I have an Embyr! I think we have a beauceron named Ember on here, too.
No, last I knew she hadn't and didn't wish to register here. But yes Enda does have a little sister Ember. And looking through the Beauceron database there are two other Beaucerons born that year named Ember.
