I had planned on naming my next dog Rageous (Rage for short) because it's an AWESOME name!!

Then...Siri. :p

That's how it always seems to happen, I have a name picked out, then I actually get the animal, and it ends up with a completely different name!

Frodo was originally going to be George :rofl1: He is so NOT a George.
I shall start calling him... George!

Also, we couldn't decide whether Buzz would be Domino (because he's speckled like a domino, ya know) or Buzz. In the end, he was Buzz Domino.

Perfect! I can accept that I'm going to have to share that one. ;)
Of course, Wesley doesn't mind sharing. :D

But anyway, my family is convinced my puppy is going to be named 'Doggy' or 'Puppy'. They are so cruel, just because I had a track record of unoriginal names as a youth...there are some things you can never live down. :rofl1:

I actually have a incredibly long name list, it is insane lol. Planning on a girl, so.

Bird
Feist
Jackie
Lottie
Puzzle
Billie
Scout
Greta
Ingrid
Peach
Penny
Riddle
Fizz
Tak
Rad
Saffron
Vada
Autumn
Ilsa
Marigold
Flare
Summer
Rita
Jet
Pi
Rio
Sly
Pan(dora)
Iris
...and Chuck

Those are my current favorites off my name list, haha.

I don't care about how common/uncommon a name is. I just care that it's short. 1 or 2 syllables or else I'm not using it.

Flynn has been at the top of the name lists for Nextdog for a while. However, so far all our dogs have never been named ahead of time. So I'm pretty sure that Nextdog won't end up named Flynn lol.

Mia was really really hard to name. It's a common name but it's perfect for her. She came to me as a Gayla... uh no.

I always wondered, is it MY-a or ME-a?

I kinda collect names, end up making long lists, then get an animal and they end up with something random. lol Like Kaia, I had a long list of names for my second borzoi, but she came with Kaia and it fit her perfectly so we were happy to keep it the same. A few of her puppy's owners kept their puppy names too. Zarya gets shortened to Zar or Z a lot.

Next dog will be either a fila or an ANCD. The short list for names is:

Cinder
Ember
Judge Q
Hei Bai
Silex
Petra
Onyx
Borea
Jet
Drusy

And some day I'd love to name something Bumbulum, it means "to fart" in latin.

Been making a list of borzoi names too.

Bulakbai - Spring
Arystan - lion
Burikkhan - wolf khan
Kaskyrbai - wolf, fearless as a wolf
Kylyshbek -sturdy sabre
Naizabai - many arrows
Sabalak - shaggy dog
Marzhan - pearl
Sholpan - evening star
Zhibek - silk

etc.

Me-ah.

Like Mamma Mia. Also known as best dog ever.

Or Amelia Renee if you want to go with her full name. :p Haha yeah... I give all my pets middle names. Always have.

ETA: I think My-ah sounds too nice for her lol.

Hahaha, that's what I was saying in my head. Win.
Originally it was Maya but that just didn't quite work out. I never have good female names picked out. I always go into getting a dog thinking I'm going to get a male. And yet I have never owned a male dog before.

So naturally I am anticipating getting a male this time and all I have are male names picked out.

I love the name Maybe!

Rooster and Monk were the names of my first mentorish friend with GSDs. I have always considered copycating those two.

I have always wanted to name a bitch Jezebel for the play of it.

We had a Malinois girl we named Collins, after Michael Collins, we'll probably use that again.

Also Ruari, pronounced Rory, is a favorite. It means red headed king in Gaelic.

Lastly, I love Flyball style names but I'm stingy with those. :p

I really like the name Teller! And I know that everyone on Chaz has already said so before, but Backup is such an awesomely brilliant name.

I really like original names, but not names that are so odd or unique that I find them more strange than anything.

I'm terrible with names (...I named my dog Trent) but I never share any ideas because I rarely even like them myself :p. I had quite a list before I brought Trent home, but in a spur of the moment decision went with "Trent" over names that had been my favorites for years. Not too thrilled with the name itself, although I've never met another dog with the same name. I definitely wouldn't change it because it suits him very well - I'm not sure why, but he absolutely looks like a "Trent".

I'm more ambivalent about cat names, but have more ideas for cats. I did name the fat cat a fairly common name, "Bree" (she came to us as "Oreo"/"Gracie" which had to go), but it fits her well. We tried a couple other names on before I came up with her name out of nowhere. My sister named her black smoke kitten "Raina", which I hate. She's too odd looking and quirky and weird to have a nice name, and I ended up renaming her "Squirrel"/"Squirrelcat" and "Spazz". Recently I've been calling her "Weasel" because she looks like one. Cat names are more fun than dog names.

I named my cat Paper...he was hubby's first anniversary present and paper is the traditional first anniversary present. Lol

I have always wanted an Irish Wolfhound, and when I get her her name will be Jello, because there's always room for J-E-L-L-O.

Admit it you sang it in your heads.

Me too! Limit was going to be Lycan but I really wasn't feeling it. A flyball fanatic friend of mine sent me a list of like 5 names and as soon as I read Limit, I knew.

I know of 1-2 other Kastle's, although spelled Kassel. We call him Loppy a LOT (I know, very dignified). I started calling him Kastle-Tassle-lopolus and then Kastle-lopolus and then lop to Loppy lol. Who knows...

Eden was going to be Flickr but Jason was convinced people would think I was yelling curse words on the agility course...we call her Pie more often than not though (as in, Eden is sweet as pie, Eden-Pie). Jason calls her Pie-Pie mostly.

ETA the kittens were named on Chaz :)

I have a pathetically long list that I really need to shorten. But it is on my computer and I'm currently on my android so I can't fetch it. But off the top of my head, I have always wanted to name my dogs these names -- Ricochet, Ruon, Aero, and Matryx. Those are my 4 favorite names in the whole world, and honestly I have no idea why. (Oh look they're all male names, go figure.)

Now I'm really hoping no one steals them, because those are the only names that I haven't been extremely indecisive about :p

I still like Gambit, Argon, and Cheshire for my animals. I've never seen another Argon or Chesh, but now we have another Gambit at work, darn it.

Future Whippet if male will be
Dutch
Beaker

If Female
Sansa
Khaleesi
