Do you take your dogs everywhere?

The exact situation you described happened at a family picnic I went to recently. The host's dog did not like other dogs. But another family member brought her dog, not even bothering to ask the host because HER dog was good with other dogs. In the end, the host's dog ended up biting...

Best Food for Dog Prone to Bladder Stones?

I dont think my mother knows what kind. i will ask her though. Chloe had them probably 7 or 8 years ago, and it has not happened since. The vet said she needs low protein food to keep it from happening again. Thanks everyone for their replies so far.

Best Food for Dog Prone to Bladder Stones?

My mother's dog had surgery to remove stones in her bladder many many years ago. The vet told my mother to purchase Science Diet, and of course she did as the vet said. She has not had any bladder stones on Science Diet, but I would prefer her to go on a better quality food. What would you...

    Would you...?

Would you adopt a dog from a shelter that has had to euthanize dogs due to parvo outbreaks in the past? What about as recent as the last few months/weeks? I have been looking at some high kill shelters to adopt from, but the chance that I may adopt a dog with parvo scares the sh!t out of me.

    Must Be Adopted Together

I was pursuing petfinder and noticed a trio of dobermans. Mother, father, and daughter. They are asking for all three dogs to be adopted together because they are so bonded. How likely is it that a person is looking to adopt THREE large breed dogs all at once? They are rather adoptable...

    beagles

My grandmother was never without at least 4 beagles at a time. They were all rescues, so most of them came from BYBs, one from a puppymill, and a few were tossed away like a piece of trash once they were no longer good for hunting. So you can take my experience with beagles with a grain of...

    Native American Indian Dog?

Thank you Aleron! Really interesting post. When I did a bit of research on them, I figured they were a "designer" breed, since she just looked like a mix to me. I have no interest in purchasing one from a breeder especially THAT breeder;) I thought the dog just looked like a GSD/Husky mix. Do...

    Native American Indian Dog?

Curious if anyone has experience with this breed? (if it is indeed a breed..?) I have never met one, nor even heard anyone talk about them. But, I am quite interested in this dog which they claim to be a native american indian dog. Id love to hear any information/experience you all...

Any Italian greyhound owners out there?

I'd love to hear about your experiences with this breed. I've read a ton of the same information on the web, like their difficulty to housebreak, fragile bones, sensitivity to the cold, and their attention seeking nature. I'd love any tidbits you can share with me!

What do you think he is mixed with?

No.. I saw him in person. But if you check out the last picture. You can clearly see the markings.

What do you think he is mixed with?

It definitely looked like merle in person. I see what you mean though. In some of the pictures he does look almost all black. In person you can see more of the greyish/blue.

What do you think he is mixed with?

Well, I have been visiting a lot of shelters for my next dog and I saw this boy online and I just HAD to go meet him. He was only like, an hour and a half away. So I went to go meet him:) Anyway. What do you think he is mixed with..? I see the rottie in him. but where do you think the merle...

    Min Pins?

I'd love to hear from whoever has owned one before, or has met one. There doesn't seem to be much info about them on here. Are they affectionate? Temperamental? Nippy? etc.

    Adopting a Senior Dog.

Who has adopted a senior dog from the shelter? I'd love to hear your stories about elderly dogs you've adopted, how easily they adjusted into your home, some problems you faced, etc. And how old is too old for you? I am seriously thinking about adopting two senior poodle gals, 13 and 9. ;) I'd...

For those of you who dislike "Pibble"

The term vaguely reminds me of how my baby sister couldnt pronounce "pit bulls' and settled on calling them 'pimples.' :lol-sign:

    Adopting a Partially Blind Dog

Hm. Thank you for the insight. I haven't really talked to anyone who adopted from there. That does seem a bit shady, I agree. Some runs are larger than others, with an outdoor and indoor portion. It would be better if they all were that size. I personally just think its better than the old...
