Three or four depending on the size of the dogs.

Preferably i want:

Izzie (Or equal value Pug if i could find one)
Future JRT
Future Flat Coat
Possible Future Icelandic Sheepdog
Oh just give in, you need a collie. :rofl1:

I'll always have a "retired" dog, probably an old bully. I enjoy having two competition dogs but that's my limit. I barely make it work with the one some days.

We like our number at 4, if I were alone I would be very happy with 2 or 3 at most.

my idea number of dogs I would say probably would be around three-four, but I don't know if I would be able to have four. Tyler says our limit is two. But I think I can slide it to three. So four might be pushing it a tad ;)

Two of those would be terriers. One would definitely be a Westie. Westies are my heart breed. The other would be another terrier. I have not decided what breed.

And I would like one large breed. A Mastiff. No other large breeds catch my fancy. Right now Tyler and I are very closely looking at the boerboel.

A Pit bull is in the future as well. I would love to rescue an older one and let him live his life being spoiled and loved.

I have p on copy most of the time, but my keyboard is also missing the number after 2 and the letter before Y in the alphabet. And I'm too lazy too keep on switching. ITs crazy how annoying it can get. You type a whole paragraph, and then realize you misspelled every word in it :p
Are they keys just missing? My I fell off on my new laptop but there's a little nipple there that I can press just as well so it still works.

My ideal number of dogs is probably two. I can make three work - we have two dogs, and dog-sit at times - but it's so much nicer when it goes back to being just two. :p

HOWEVER, it would be very nice to have two of my OWN dogs, since Violet is my parents dog. I don't see myself moving out of here for quite some time though, so unless my parents cave, it'll just be Chloe and Violet for the next several years. I can see my parents letting me get another dog when Violet is older and calmer, though. So we'll see.

When I have my own place though, I want two dogs. Maybe a foster at times. I want several cats, though. :p

I was thinking about this last night and honestly if I could figure out a way for my current dogs to live forever (or at least, as long as I do), I truly think I would never want or need another dog. Ever. Maybe sounds cheesey but it's true.
I would trade all future dogs for Mia to live forever for sure. She's the first dog I've really realized I'm going to be a freaking mess when she's gone.

WORD!!!

Just thinking about having to loose Teagan when she gets older, or God forbid something happens to her makes me freak out and very, very sad. I am pretty sure I will be a freaking sloppy, drunk mess when Teagans day comes.

I don't know about my IDEAL pack... I'm pretty happy right now... Daisy is 11 and essentially retired (we may try for our CD...) Liz is almost 8 and we're dabbling in agility, and Rage is 4 next month and we're just starting out in EVERYTHING haha. Those are the three that are with me full-time...

I have that with Daisy all the time :( She's 11 and in superb health, and I'm already trying to bargain with God for her to live forever :(

I've had 7 dogs at once and loved it. Of course it only worked because we live on property. But I always thought it was so much fun.

I recently had 5+1F.... it was a bit much. 4+1F was okay... but I'm really liking 3+1F since Ada is staying with the inlaws for a few weeks.

But ideally, I'd love just three. Two dobes and something else. Probably won't be corgis again... but I don't know what the 3rd Wheel will be in the future.

WHAAAAAT???? WHAAAAATTTTTTT????

Why? :(

Too short, too loud, too much hair. ;)

Too short = for me, it's such a hassle to fine-tune obedience when the dog is literally 3" off the ground. It's aggravating. Revy is a dream dog, but she's so **** short that I have to break position to tell whether or not she's sitting tight... or even sitting at all.

Too loud = I think my ears chronically bleed... which wouldn't be bad, except they bark at the worst possible times. When something super stressful is going on, the dobes are intuitive enough to sense it and they keep quiet... but the corgis just run around and go BARKBARKBARKBARK THIS IS FUN BARK BARKBARK!

Too much hair = it really, really doesn't bother me. But I'd be lying if I said I'll miss the hair. It's just not wash'n'wear enough for me. I want a dog that I can take swimming, but will be clean and dry by the time we get back to the car. Besides, fleas love corgi hair. **** fleas...

That, and recent events with Ada really make me leery of getting another corgi. If I could be assured that all future corgis would be like Revy, I'd stick with corgis. But the risk of ending up with a dog like Ada again isn't a risk I'm too enthusiastic about taking.

Too short = they're not short, they're FUN SIZED! :p

Too loud = You mean you DIDN'T want to hear about ALL the things?

Too much hair = well.....I don't have much to say on this front. The hair is far from my favorite part of corgis, but I can deal with it :p
Ryan has said that he would prefer future dogs not to be on the bed because of hair, which I can totally understand because after 2 days my bed starts to look like Falkor from The NeverEnding Story if I don't have the comforter always made up
Plus nothing spoils a romantic mood like pausing to rid yourself of corgi hair :rofl1:

I know I will have another corgi at some point, whether it is the next dog or not still remains to be seen. I DO NOT want to end up with another corgi with Frodo's temperament, but I feel like I can avoid it if I am super selective.

Same with Gavroche. I tear up just thinking about losing him. It doesn't help that boxers tend to have a shorter lifespan than your average dog

AMEN.

Omg, I watched My Dog Skip the other day and my mom said: "What are you going to do when you lose Jackson? You are gonna be a mess..." and I wanted to cry just thinking about it. CAN'T even imagine.

Honestly, I have no idea. Since working in a grooming shop and getting to know more breeds hands-on, I've started really liking certain breeds I never thought I would, and I've also been turned off by others that I thought I would like.

I do know that 2 dogs is my ideal number (three or four is good also, but I really do quite like two), and as long as one of those dogs is a Toller, I'm happy. Ideally the other dog in my perfect pack of two would be something larger, but I have nothing specific in mind. It changes on a day to day basis. Sometimes I can't imagine life without a Doberman, other times I think I want another Rottweiler, other times I want to get straight out of my bubble and get a Leonberger, sometimes I just want to adopt a big mutt, sometimes I want a Belgian Shepherd, etc. I have no idea what my next non-Toller will be. I like so many different breeds, but since I have no plans to add to my pack any time in the near future, I haven't given it too much thought.

I feel like this about Buster, he's been my rock through so many hard times in my life and I sometimes wonder how I'll handle loosing him. I've grown up with him, I really can't imagine him not being here.
