In reality though, every country is labelled. I mean Wales is obvioulsy habited by a mass of sheep loving people and England is full of tea drinking snobs with butlers .
Wales=Sheep-shaggers :D, Northern England=........Northerners :D, and most of the people i know drink coffee :p

I'll drag the thread out a little more........

I was not ever supposed to even by involved in this thread. I think the thread was for people who are not citizens of the US, and I am a citizen.

I will bow out now (as I should have never been in)!

No hard feelings... even those of you who hate the US, i like you all as people and respect you for your love of animals...see you around the rest of the boards.

Heehee! And I live in an igloo.. and I know EVERYONE that lives in Newfoundland.. and even Canada.. and here we're all murderers of baby seals! :D
I don't think the remark about seals is funny or even called for at all, kidding or not.

I happen to be boycotting all Canadian seafood products because of this horrible seal hunt. :( It's sick, and horrible.

Just one thing. People may love the country they live in but not certain aspects of it. Saying "if you don't like it get out" is stupid.
I happen to love South Africa and I don't want to leave, I do however, complain about the crime. The other day our minister of saftey and security said "if you complain about the crime, get out of the country". That makes no sense.
If you catch my drift.

I agree. I don't think anybody should say 'if you don't like it, then get out' the fact that we acknowledge the problems and want to make the country better actually makes me more of a patriot than the person saying that.

Agreed.. one thing about the whole 911 thing that really bothered me was all over the news it was "The day that changed the world!"
Um.... it may have changed the US... but the whole world...? S'a little self-centered aint it? :p
Tell that to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan. Tell that to the families of soldiers killed from countries who have supported the US and their efforts. 911 DID change the world whether you want to believe it or not.

mjb- Your right, that's how its always been. BUT NOW with weapons that could destroy the very planet we live on, I think we have to take a different approach to things not just. "We're bigger, more technologically advanced, have better weapons than you, so WHAT?"
Part if the issue is that the countries who HAVE those weapons that could destroy the world also have the restraint to not use them. Wouldn't it be simple for Israel to turn Syria into a giant piece of glass? Even Pakistan and India show restraint with nuclear weapons. Give that crackpot in Iran a nuke, he's using it the next day on Israel- it's his self proclaimed mission to eliminate them as a country. The guy in North Korea is the same way- once he gets a way to launch a missle far enough, he will use it. Countries like the US, France, the UK all know the repercussions of using a nuke and will never use one unless it's the last resort, not as a weapon of terror like Iran would do.
