Nothing specific has happened -she's just been really stressy lately, and would rather stay in her crate during shows. I'm also starting to think she's a bit older than I had originally thought.

And with her occasional bouts of aggression I don't want to push her to the point where she might lash out; both for her sake, and for that of the other dogs.

On the plus side, I found a herding trainer that's right by our vet. Maybe herding will be Rigby's thing. Hoping to try it out sometime next month.

I'm so in love with this puppy it's not even funny. I keep trying to find things I don't like about him, but he is super awesome. Xolos definitely are an interesting breed. We are working on socializing the heck out of him right now. He has met soooo many people already and is unphased. He really likes the kids he has met. Can be a little aloof with adults at first, but quick to recover if you let him make the choice to come to you on his own. He is a happy medium of totally chill puppy and little monster. I could just eat him up.

My car broke down yesterday, again.... Itztli was with me when it broke down and we were stranded in the heat and humidity for an hour waiting on a tow truck. I sweated my rear off and was pretty much dying. He slept through it all. When the tow truck came he opened his eyes, watched the big truck for a minute and then decided to sunbathe in the grass while the guy loaded my car up.

Well, I got an appointment with the vet I wanted to see for Gusto. Not for a week and a half, because the only appointments they had before that were evening ones, and I really don't want to have an appointment at 6 for however long it is going to be, and have to drive 3 hours home after.

Fingers crossed for an answer, please. I'd like a good, easy to fix answer, but an answer at all would be nice.

Abrams had his first checkup since he was a wee baby puppy. He did very well, as long as I had a treat shoved in his face! He growled when he was getting blood drawn from his front leg, but when we had to redraw for another test I wanted to run we did a jug stick and he did great. The vet said he has some mild crepitis in his right rear knee, but otherwise looks wonderful. Hooray! I'm just hoping his knee won't be an issue as he ages.

Oh, and he is officially 82 pounds. Leaner than I thought, which is great! ::D

So as I'm working on Cajun's chest rebound, I am able to basically stand completely upright and have her do it... however I've realized that the more vertical I get, the more vertical SHE gets and oftentimes ends up using my face to kick off with her back feet.

This is undeniably the most dangerous thing I have ever done in my life.

I taught one of our daycare dogs (adult dog that looks like 16-week pit bull puppy with double dewclaws) at work to jump into my arms, which looks absolutely adorable except that he is clearly aiming for the top of my head and is often halfway up my face before I catch him.

Jeez, Roxer. Just cuz I'm holding a treat and ask you to give me a kiss does not warrant you trying to dislocate my jaw with your nose. That is not a kiss!!

Oh, Josefina why do you keep dragging your butt. I wormed her for tapes and I hope that's all it is, because if it's an analysis gland issue it's gonna be a trip to the vet for her ... cause I ain't touching that ****.

Good luck!

I'm trying to figure out if I want to sign up for agility this weekend (super, super last minute registration!).

Pros: Haven't done a trial (other than regionals which doesn't count) since January. Venue is a 15 minute drive from my house. Can go for 1-2 runs then come home and start my day. The venue is in a nice park with a lovely trail to walk through.

Cons: I'm doing a demo next weekend, lure coursing the weekend after that and a hopefully another trial the weekend after -- husband gets cranky when I do a lot of weekend dog stuff en masse. It's an outdoor trial and it's raining today and possibly tomorrow -- soggy ground is no fun. We're having friends by tonight which will mean a late night -- it makes early mornings tough to deal with. I'm getting slammed by wonky tax installment payments, so cash will be tight between now and the end of the year.

E: Screw it. I signed up for it. Yaygility!

I pulled a dog to foster, well technically had my brother up in Minnesota pull the dog for me. Now I'm pretty sure the dog won't be making it down to Missouri, my brother is in absolute love with her and she is apparently obsessed with him. Love it when stuff like that happens!! Cross your fingers it all works out.

Thanks! It is a ton to watch, huge bummer there's none near you! :(
I've only seen two dog dock competitions, both of which were at state fair. It was awesome to watch. I really wish their were more competitions here.

So I uh. Am talking with a Buhund breeder. For future things.
Yay! They seem awesome, but, I admire them from afar. Just not the breed for me.
