I'm really wanting a PWD now. I met one today,& I'm in love.

They seem so people oriented, but not over the top. I just love there temperament.

Please tell me she's fine so that I don't feel so awful for laughing at her.

In other news, I have no idea how people survive the day without playing with their dogs. I'm trying to be careful with Gusto until his vet appointment, and Meg has a skinned foot that I don't want getting muddy, and oh my dog am I bored out of my mind. I usually hike a couple of hours any day I have off, and I'm just aimlessly wandering around the house. And going to the store to buy Disney Princess band-aids for Meg.

Seriously, what do regular people do all day?

So I have all these bags of crunchy dog biscuits I got from work that someone donated cuz they're expired. I've been using them to fill Kongs and then putting a big Buddy Biscuit in the opening and somehow this is way more complicated for the dogs than my standard frozen peanut butter/kibble combo. Which is awesome , keeps Cajun occupied for crate time and it requires 0 planning from me, I just take the 10 seconds to do it before I leave. :)

We have a massive Anatolian shepherd puppy at work that takes uncoordinated to a whole new level. Naturally, she has an overprotective owner that complains every time she comes home from daycare with a new bump or scrape. My favorite request was "I want her to play with the other dogs, but not with mouths."

I have seen this dog run full speed into walls, fences, and architectural support pillars. I have seen her step over a sleeping dog, twist her ankle, and hop on three legs for several minutes. This dog is absolutely capable of banging herself up without any help.

Summer seems fine today thankfully! She saw Mia in the doorway and I guess just thought the door was open. I mean full tilt sprint straight into the glass.

On another note, I want a mini aussie bad. Specifically one from this particular breeder. I LOVE their dogs. But it sounds hard to get one and mostly she gives them to people she knows will compete with them. Maybe a dog or two down the road but seriously every time I get to hang out with these dogs Iw ant one sooo bad. Sadly I'm just too picky with the breed and most don't quite do 'it' for me. But these do. These are NICE dogs.

confirmed... no puppies.
she said she'll try it again. But there are also a lot of people who are also waiting for a puppy.

I mentioned Payton and I said I wasn't really ready to breed him yet, but I was thinking about it... and she agreed we should wait more with him.

so... no puppies. which is good because I'm really not ready for another one.

but I like puppies.

Oh, what a little beauty <3

I recently got to meet and snuggle and entire litter of Chinese Cresteds. There were 5 pups, one was a gorgeous little powderpuff girly.

I am beginning to think I may have to own one of these little fellows someday!

One year ago today a little terrier brat came into our home and never left.
And without even fully realizing it, she celebrated it the exact same way we did a year ago.

A trip to the park with just her and Rigby - which went WAY better this time than it did last year. She's progressed so much.

Happy gotcha day little Ruby!
(Her actual birthday is on Wednesday, there will be pictures soon :p)

Quinn is up for two more classes. Junior Beginner's and Nosework.

Her first Nosework class was this past weekend and she excelled. We are working on strange crates in strange places, but she settled in well enough for a 7 month old puppy. She won't be introduced to the odor, of course, but it is still a fun game to play to get her introduced to the idea.

She also went to Barker Days this weekend and excelled there as well. She loved all the people and the dogs. Little social butterfly. She also very quickly learned that the vendors had treats, and made her rounds accordingly. She wasn't so sure about the pool and the water though. Maybe later.

Of course, because of all the treats and excitement she also had explosive diarrhea the next night. So she got a bath. But otherwise she is doing fantastic.

Zander, on the other hand, is still being Zander. Which means asshole creeper whiny dog. Grumpy old suspicious man.

They balance each other so well.

So whoever came and trained my dogs for me, thank you! I don't know what got into them today but they were brilliant.

We practiced emergency downs when playing with the flirt pole and everyone got them straight away. Then we started doing down stays while i played with one dog at a time on the flirt pole. Everybody held their stays even with me hyping them all up and praising them like crazy, Aura actually started barking while she was playing (big nono in our house, the neighbours dislike us as it is) she was so hyped up but then downed straight away and held her stay. And poor Scamp maintained his sit stay (he doesn't down on GRASS thank you very much. That's for the peasants) when Fudge couldn't turn in time and ended up jumping over his head.

Then later when I lost my phone in the field, in the dark, Fudge and Aura found it straight away despite me never having taught them to generalize search to my phone. Admittedly Aura did bite me because I praised her too much and got her over excited but it's a small price to pay for my phone haha.
