The vet once told me that Voodoo has an unusual name. He said that in all his years of practice, he's never had a pet with that name before. I personally don't think it's unusual, but I'll take the vet's word for it.

It got me thinking: what is the most unusual dog name you've ever heard?

At my vet in Austin, they had a dog patient named Crackspaz. He was suppossedly very hyperactive as a puppy. :lol-sign:

I knew a dog named "Nuthin"... they couldn't think of a name for him.

Another dog I know is named "Earwax", named by a 3 year old. They just call him "Wax" although his vet records have his full name.

And when I worked for the animal shelter, we had an owner surrender. The dog was named "Some'ere". The owner said, "You know, like 'come here'."

My brothers Shar Pei is named Jig lol I still have no idea where he got that from. But it suits the little wrinkley stinker.

One of my friends has a Lab named Dumba$$ lol.

A family friend has a GSD name Bender his registered name is "Bend Her Over" LMFAO.

I have yet to meet someone else who has named their dog Pixiestick lol.

I don't know how they spelled it, but my mom used to dogsit for a dog named "D-O-G". Yes, spelled out and sounding like "dee-oh-gee", making it sound like all one word.

I get comments a lot on my choice of names for the dogs.

Akecheta
Sukari
Miakoda (although I'm seeing that one more & more)
Chenoa
Takodah

Shaker
Undertaker (aka Taker)

Chipper (as in Chipper Jones)
Ripken (as in Cal Ripken)
Jeter (as in Derek Jeter)

Mudbug
Zydeco
Orion
Zulu

We use 3 name categories for the dogs: Native American, Baseball, and Cajun/Creole/Looziana names. The above are just a very small handful I'm giving for examples.

I also had a Lab/Rottweiler named Bob. :D

I think Malakai is a pretty unique name for a dog, at least around here.

I met an APBT recently named Legacy and a Cane Corso named Zoda.

and Miakoda I absolutly adore the name Takodah!

My Auntie's rottie was called Mason. Not that Mason is unusual, but i thought she said 'Basin.' And i told everyone that was his name.. :)

My auntie's friend Perry is a Dogue de Bordeaux, Alaskan Malamute and Akita Inu breeder.
She comes up with such cool names...
Nabukko
Bijiou
Mr Bo Jangles (AHA!!)
Yuko
Pumkin
Tarot

My dog and his siblings were all names after artists... So there was Matisse, Dali, DaVinci, Cezanne, Monet.. And others i can't remember.

Oh and i met a dog called 'Deefer'... Like D-For-Dog... Inventive... Hmmm...
But if you say it in my Northern Irish accent it makes sense lol.
