Oh and we had Shack which I've never heard of another dog named Shack.

I also think Trey is just not meant to be a dog's name, lmao. Oh well.

Well, Emma the cat's full name is Emma Tate. We thought it was very clever at like four in the morning when they woke us up, so it stuck. But seriously, she imitated everything. She took weeks to figure out how to groom herself, and quite a while to figure out playing.. and she never went anywhere on her own, she was always following chili or me or Tom.

Chili's full name is Chileiyli Lily. Which is weird, but I love it, and I don't call her it very often.

Well, there's Sarama of course . . .

I know of a lawyer's dog named Hearsay . . . a JRT named Dammit . . . 3 of my mom's poodles have had unusual names: Gavotte, Merangue, and Tarnish. One of my cats is named Firdaus, and another (now deceased) was named Bagoas, known as "Bago."

Many of Dad's hounds have had strange names, but that was due to the vast number of required names.

I forgot about fathead. Malakai use to play with a American Bulldog/ APBT cross name and his name was fathead...(probably because his head was the size of a basketball). Their other dog was a small mutt named triguy..and yes he was missing a leg. lol.

Heheh . . . must be something about JRTs :D I've met two named Dammit!
I think that's easily explained .. . "Come here, Dammit!" "Sit, Dammit" "Dammit, stop kiling the cat!" "Out of the trashcan, Dammit!" "DAMMIT!!!!!"

Suits a JRT perfectly :D

Did Fathead's owner ride a Harley? Harley Davidson makes one called a fathead.

Someone was commenting to me that the worst possible nightmare puppy would be a JRT/APBT cross. The JRT part would ensure that it got into EVERY freaking thing, and the APBT part would further ensure that would never give up no matter what

The vet once told me that Voodoo has an unusual name. He said that in all his years of practice, he's never had a pet with that name before. I personally don't think it's unusual, but I'll take the vet's word for it.
QUOTE]

I have good friends who bred a dog that was named "Vagabond Voodo"

But until you mentioned yours I had never heard of another...

Diamond reg. name is Shubie (Salt Water Shubie) short for "Shubenacadie"

Some pretty cool names!!!

I haven't heard many really unusual names. The most unusual I can think of are dogs on here (Voodoo, Zaphod... to name a couple), and the most unusual in real life that I can think of is Kayzak and Dammit. And Dance. I've only heard of one other Dance before; a Dobe owned by a friend's friend (but her name was spelled 'Danse').

Reminds me . . . my old vet had a cat he called LS - short for Little Sh1t. The cat loved to ambush and wrap himself around ankles and Dr. B was forever telling him to "turn loose, you little sh1t." :D

When I was a kid, Nanny had a GSD named Alpo.
On the cat note, our BB, is short for "Bad B....." because she is always into something.... and my hub had a cat when he was little called FuzzyCuz... he named it at age 2 but when I started dating him he was embarrased about her name, she lived to 19.

I'd never met another dog named Auggie until here. My brother in law used to have a dog named Auggie von Doggie, and had a cat named Velcro.

I know a border collie named Sooner (as in "sooner than later"). His "sister's" name is Flirt. The owner has some really great dog names, but I can't remember them all.

We get some really great named dogs at the store. Rebel, Mud (my managers dog), Timaeus, T2 (it's actually Tucker the 2nd, but he goes by T2). I'm sure I'd find a ton more going through the appointment book!
