Breeder's pic at 7weeks old. Apparently Felix sees no point to stacking, lol.

The breeder's description:
"He's very sweet, very goofy. He appropriately startled to noises he doesn't know (like forklifts and such) and then wants to go check them out with confidence. He loves everyone, but is not totally in your face. Awesome dog manners. He's not overly go go go, but he is an Aussie puppy so is busy of course. No quirks that I've seen so far. VERY respectful of dog corrections."

He sounds exactly like what I was looking for.

I am so glad you're finally getting your puppy!! How exciting! I totally understand your reservations, but I am sure you'll find a way to figure it all out. In my experience, timing is never just right. When I got Journey, I thought the timing was ideal, and then everything fell apart a couple of months after, but I found a way to fit a puppy into everything and don't regret getting her for a second.

Ahh that's amazing! Congrats Zoom!

I'm sure he'll be warm enough... your pup has lots coat and the car will stay warm as it's a small space and I'm sure you'll run the heater when you're driving and you can give him lots of bedding. Not quite the same, but I raised Roman outside in autumn and I never saw any indication he was cold.

Really, you just need the stuff you'd need for an adult dog... crate, bed, chews, balls (maybe smaller balls? not sure how big his mouth is), tugs, treats, poop bags, a little collar and a longline.

Congrats!

And this is why you never ask Chaz to talk you out of a puppy ;)

I was hoping I'd see this update! :D Yey!

And, I personally wouldn't be too worried about the cold in the car as long as you provide appropriate insulated bedding. Growing up we had outside dogs (with Labrador coats) and they were more than fine in the winter. We brought them in when it dipped into the single digits, but otherwise they handled the cold quite well. Dogs are, well, dogs. They handle climates different than we do.

Congrats! I was thinking since you work at the car dealership, would they let you park the car inside the work area when you need to take them with you and it's cold out? I've had a pup as young as 8 weeks old and had to go to work. They stayed home in a kennel and were fine.

There are plenty of places I can park in the sun; the car should stay nice and warm that way.

Now I just need to figure shipping logistics. I can't take time off right now to fly out to get him and the breeder was saying that if we could get someone to pick him up from the ferry in Seattle, it's a MUCH cheaper flight for the pup.

10 weeks. He recently had dental surgery to pull a weird tooth that was throwing off his bite, so his ear set is off as a result right now.

He's a bit overshot on his bite with a minor twist to the jaw. The surgery should have fixed it and while it doesn't sound like he'll ever achieve a perfect bite, it should get better as he gets older.

I totally have puppy fever and would totally take that very cute, fluffy little bear puppy home to my already full household of four dogs :rofl1: ... so I am no help either.
