Ahhh Chaz... The land of the ever changing thread. LOL
I think its funny that beating ones chest for their country is sometimes 'patriotic' and others is 'arrogance'. Further that it often matters which country is being touted. Just sayin...
Tomorrow is going to be a great day, no matter what. On one hand, Canada will do what it is expected (and frankly SHOULD) to do and win the men's hockey gold. On the other, the US could silence 30+ million people. A US win would, as said by some, (not me, I think such a idea is silly, but many in the Canukian press hold this opinion) make all other Canadian success at these games nill.
That's a bit much, eh? But still..... I have to smile a bit. The US was expected to finish 5th... A bunch of kids, with 3 old guys... And.... Ryan Miller. Already humbled the Canadians... Can they do it again? You bet. I recall hearing the fans at CHP chanting "we want the USA....we want the USA" near the end of the Slovakia game. (Until, of course, Slovakia almost won.) Canada... Team USA is coming.
People, if you have even a passing intrest in the game of ice hockey, tune into NBC at 3pm EST tomorrow. You won't be disappointed. Its gonna be a HECK of a game. Don't be sad if its low scoring, as I expect it to be. It's going to be a war.
