I don't know who told you that but puppy tails are docked with anesthetic. Because they are not. They do feel it and they do cry out in pain. They get over it quickly but yes it is painful for them.

Well you sip your pink martini and that is prob. what makes you feel fine about cropping and docking.... YOUR DOG WAS NOT BORN THAT WAY! Yes, it's painful and not necessary. As I posted before, please leave your full name and address, phone number, I will have numerous vets give you the "real deal" on cropping and docking. No, I won't have some "wacko" call or write you, you would be able to confirm with each office. The vets that do it, really speak badly about you behind your back. Which, as far as I am concerned, doesn't speak well about the vet. either..... But I can have number animal experts, vets, etc....let you in "on a little secret...." Common, you must be joking or just plain cruel to say what you said....... That is HUMAN VANITY, NOT THE HUMANE WAY>>>>>> PEOPLE STARTED THAT>>WHICH STARTED IN EUROPE, AND THEY ARE STOPPING IT..... Ya, I know, I have come to really like this site. Was "bitter" at first, but met some great people. But when I hear the above comment..... Please make me understand. Is this a DOG LOVERS FORUM, where the health, well-being, etc...is the MOST important thing to us, or is it what US HUMANS want them to be.... Let a friggen dog be a dog, don't "alter" him/her to you specifications... If you don't love what you have, let it go to someone it will. Not to some judge(s) ....GIMME a break..... love your best friend, treat him/her kindly, they will give way more back. I could not see myself living my life, altering my dogs for some show...for a stupid, **** ribbon. Good for you if you have......... my dogs live in bliss, unaltered, trained, happy, content, protective...... I don't have to worry about them at all. Feel sorry for some of the dogs out there, JUST FOR SHOW... why don't you shake your a** out there and make a buck, instead of altering your dog. Yea, Yea, I know....way too much work...

As for Pinkie, I just love how some one can express their views, and then, when someone disagrees... people get defensive. You spoke your mind in your own way, I spoke mine.... No problems. We DON'T agree..... the world will not fall tomorrow because of that.... you still have your right to do what you do, and I still have my right to speak my mind on this too... right?

It doesn't matter whether or not I like docking and cropping. What I don't like is when someone attacks someone for not agreeing. By all means, state your opinion. There is a difference between doing that and directing your anger at a member. This is not a personal thread. There are more members than just PinkMartini who are fine with docking and cropping. Make your statements general please.
Corners please !!! This has been debated before. If you show and breed for showing.. you have to go with the standards...ears and tails cropped. If you just want a loving friend , stay natural if it's your choice. I met a lovely boxer at my vets a couple of weeks ago with natural tail and ears ! I commented on how wonderful he looked.... they thanked me, as I guess most people ask them what breed he is/
