Although it would suck that we couldn't all meet each other it would be cool if we set up chaz party's in different locations. All on the same day but for those that have to drive really far perhaps those people could find a central location for them and then another group that lives in the same area find a central location and so on and just take lots of video and pictures and put them all on here when the party weekend is over. That way we won't all get to meet but everyone can say a greeting with their dogs on cam and then tape some of the party so we can see everyone :D

I just feel bad for those that would have to drive 8, 12 .... 36 HOURS :O for only one day. I know that is tough
I think this is a really good idea.

Or get a camera phone and take pictures while there and just send them to someone else's phone.

It'd be (almost) real-time and like everyone was there, you just...couldn't talk with people at the other partay.

This is fun to plan !! I really doubt we could do like 5 or 6 areas the same weekend... but would be great for each to post on line. BTW, Chippo brought me " Chazzy " just now, so I guess he's part of the party !! Our traveling gnome !! He want to do the " Captain " with Debi !! Got quite fond of it in Belize !

We'll rock the world baby. You and I, and all fellow Chazzers. We shall unite! Be the many! Be the strong, the fierce, the fearless, and well, the pooper scoopers...

All glories have their dim side.

I would love to meet everyone, but being here in France is a tiny problem!!! ;) Plus I think there are only 3 Chaz members in France!! Me, Christian (my other half) and Cyrille (sometimes posts on the art forum!) :( The cost to get over to the States and Canada is certainly something we can't afford right now!! Plus you guys still wouldn't get to meet the one and only Sir Gustav!! :D

I have this picture in my mind of an empty park with a hill and a few families playing on the bottom of one side of this hill. When all of a sudden there is a slight rumble on the ground and over the hill comes hundreds of dogs and their addicted owners following. The helpless families will be scared and confused and surrender quickly.

NOT GET SUED FOR ANYTHING

:D

im sure this has been thought of...but from what i saw, hasnt been mentioned....

not to be like really negative...but...

a bunch of dogs together....i think we ALL know the problems that could come of this....

i dunno, i can already see people having huge problems with oakley...like...he probably has been on a leash like...5 times in the past 3 months....

and like, from every single encounter he has had with a dog, it has gone well, and he always wants to play - now, what if something were to happen though...i mean, i dont want his head to get bitten off, nor do i want him to bite another dog's head off...nor do i want to be criticized for the way he is trained....

blah, i just dont even want to bring oakley if he cant run around...but at the same time, if this is a huge event....i highly doubt all of our dogs will be able to get along perfectly

anyways, just wanted to make sure everyone was aware

and i am actually really excited for this if it works out :) :) i think it would be a great time!!!

Not problems, challenges! :) I would hope that people who would go, that have aggressive dogs, would not bring those aggressive dogs to a event like this.

..nor do i want to be criticized for the way he is trained....
It takes a bunch of muscles to frown, less to smile and only 4 to extend your middle finger. ;)

Consider the source if somebody wants to critique the way he is trained.

The "venue" MUST be an offleash thing. I have a phone call scheduled with the Erie, PA "grand poo bah" of tourism guy. The email sounded promising. They have some public places, that are fenced, that we could rent and have exclusive use of, for a fee of course. It would be cheaper on a weekday, but I am thinking we will have to do this on a Saturday or something.

I will let you know after I talk to the guy. This afternoon sometime I hope.

anyways, just wanted to make sure everyone was aware

This does sound exciting!

I would hope that certain people wouldn't criticize others if the dog reacts in a nervous way because there are so many other dogs around. We simply can't expect our dogs to get along with every single dog out there, let alone all people to get along!
I personally would probably bring a crate just in case... We know dog body language, and can act in an appropriate manner if something comes up. I have no problem putting any of my dogs in a "time out" and won't be the least little bit embarrased
I think we'd be respectful if we knew certain dogs needed to be approached carefully if they're fearful, or what not. If the owners speak up for their dogs and are generally responsible I don't think there will be any serious problems ;)

I think that would be much easier. There is no way I can travel with three big dogs, it's just not happening. The $50 thing wouldn't work for me either...I undesrtand it's meaning, but my money is going towards something else that I really need to do right now.

I think so too and I am kinda excited :D... I just dont know about the "off leash" idea because I know how Chloe is, she is not the type of dog to just run up to someone she doesnt know and let them pet her. For her the person has to let her come to them..some dogs she likes some she doesnt especially "yellow dogs" specifically labs?

Maybe I'll hit the lotto between now and then and just travel the country with my dog going to various Chazhound events.

One of my dogs is dog-aggressive, and while there are some dogs she likes, until she is completely over her dog-aggression, I'm not bringing her to a place with lots of other dogs. That wouldn't be fun for her or me.

some dogs that are stuck on a leash feel trapped and stuck and may become aggressive when meeting too many other dogs. It needs to be off leash. Owners can "play it by ear" and keep an eye on how they're dog/s are reacting to the situation.
I'm excited because I just did a search and its only like a 3hr drive for me!! woohoo!
