I don't want to read through all this again but was anyone up for stately meets? With the ponys meets I go to we have meets per state and one big convention every year.

Not that anyone watns to go but to get an idea of how we do it there is a site here
http://ponymeet.com/ the yearly convention was in vegas and san francisco the last two years. state meets are generally a ten dollar fee to cover food and plates and what not and the convention is mroe like what you are talking about haivng. that is a bigger fee but I have never gone so I don;t know what it is. the hotels are too expensive for me to think about it. Not to mention who would watch four dogs!

If anyone is up for a state meet send me a pm and maybe we can set something up.

I'd go if it was in Montanna or a state near there. As long as it was in September or late August.

I dont think there are enough people in Alberta to go

I think half of the fun will be to meet people's dogs too ! After all, most of us feel we know the dogs better than the owners. I feel it should be like College reunions.... areas yearly and a big bang every 10 years.......... Lord ! I'll be 82 !

OK... I am back and now offically a "hockeycop" for another year. I even got an offer to work very elite level "AAA Junior" games in the NYC/Philly area. Good money but lots of travel... Anyhoo....

I am working on a Erie thing. ONce I get details about costs and such, I will let you all know.

I think early Fall is a good bet. I am sure we can make that happen.

I WILL have detail this week.

Would you commit to attending an event, somewhere in the Northern Ohio/Southern Ontario area if it cost $50 (US) to 'register'. The date of the event would be mid-late spring 2007.

just out of curiosity, what would the 50 bucks be put towards?

I personally don't think the park will cost that much and I'd rather get buckets of chicken etc we can all share the cost. You get into cooking hotdogs/hamburgers etc waste and costs can really add up. If we went KFC with their sides we'd have more time for fun things. Of course it could be up to each for our prefered drinks etc.

$50 was a guess

I will tell you the costs up front and depending on who wants to come will determine how much it costs.

Plus, my fee. I AM a evil conservative after all. LOL

Just kidding. It will be worht it to do this for free, just to meet you all and verbally abuse the people I don't like. LOL Just kidding again.

Really, I was just kidding. :)

I agree, food shouldnt cost 50 a person.lol

The money could be donated to a shelter, that would be pretty cool.

It's not just the food lol. We have to rent a place to have the get together. An outdoor place and they don't usually give that away for free

Good call... Maybe get a local shelter involved... Make it an event where they come and show off their dogs... Get the local press involved. Offer free hotdogs and pop to people who come look at the dogs available...

Hmmmmmm

I don't want anything like that. We are going to have a relatively new dog and I don't want to overwhelm him Not to mention all the "other" people that would show up. What would be the point in securing a venue
