Oh, and the only reason I haven't sunbathed topless yet is because my dad and bro were there and I do find THAT a little weird... but probably will at some point - I may aswell ;)

You guys who are scared of a little bit of flesh need to get yourselves to a french (or other european) beach for a bit :D

it wasn't about being 'scared of a little bit of flesh'. it was merely about a place having a rule, and a person stepping outside of the rule guideline. I have no idea how it became a debate on breastfeeding. and when a restaurant wants you to wear a shirt (men), do you see a bunch of shirtless guys standing outside the next day in protest? so there was a rule...big deal. the woman chose to make it an issue. the world is full of silly rules, I just don't see why some people get so freaked out about it. save the fight for the big stuff in life that is worthwhile. ok, boobs are natural. that's great on nude beaches or strutting around your house or wherever....but not where there is a rule. why get all mad about that??? ok, I'm done cause I just don't see the hoopla. you'd think somebody went on a rampage against motherhood or something.

I am a second time nursing mother. I nursed my oldest daughter until she was 14 months. I believe a woman has a right to nurse her child whereever needed. However this child was old enough to eat solid food and drink from a cup so nursing wasn't entirely necessary but may have been doing it to ease the child as it makes them more comfortable during flight and just in general. I do question the fact if she was really discreet or not. There is a big difference in just whipping it out and being discreet. I also just flew on a delta flight and nursed my 5 months old next to a stranger. It happened to be a young lady but I wouldn't have had much choice if it would have been a man I would have done the same thing. I know that it does make some people uncomfortable and given the choice if there is a man present I nurse in another room. However I will not nurse in a bathroom or some other disgusting facility. I nurse in clean fitting rooms, in the car etc But I nursed on the airplane going and returning for my trip and had no complaints. I do have to agree that a blanket is uncomfortable to nurse under my baby was sweating just holding her before we landed because it was hot on the plane and it is distracting for her. But I do feel I have to point out this child was old enough to drink regular milk from a cup.

In my opinion the flight attendant was either really uptight or she wasn't discreet, but I can't judge because I wasn't there. The girl I was sitting next to on the plane was reading a magazine and other male passengers were all around me however I doubt they could even tell that I was nursing, if you do it discreetly it just looks like your cradling a sleeping baby to your chest.

And whoever said it was indecent exposure was wrong it is completely legal in the state she was in and shold be everywhere.

yeah what she said:D No one ever knew i was nursing. It is very possible to be very discreet without sitting in the restroom somewhere. Prop a book, open a magazine, adjust your coat, for pete's sake i am serious people would keep on talking and they had no idea. One man asked me if my baby was doing alright on formula. His baby wasn't. hmmmmmm Women are mamals, and having babies is normal. IT is getting away from our humanity that makes no sense. There are babies that are allergic to both formula and cows millk. THose babies have to have breast milk to survive. I gave to teh Mother's Milk Bank (yeah there is such a thing) and my milk was sent to a baby in Texas. The airline could of course have a curtained off area for nursing mothers. Gee that would make sense if they have an issue with it. Still no one needs to whip it out and make a big showoff too doo about it either. I don't know why they would want to anyway. I suppose she could have pumped:rolleyes:
