Every once in a while I will take a nap with hannah in the big bed. I line the edge of the bed with pillows although it seems when she is awake and moving around she just moves closer to me lol but usually she wakes me up anyway lol cause she's a kicker when she moves lol.

but she is just learning how to roll over onto her tummy now so I likely will not be napping with her in the bed anymore lol.

I couldn't nurse laying down. I just couldn't do it. It was so awkward for me lol

I wonder if a boppy pillow would help you when you are sitting. I'm assuming that is where you are sore... since it's open in the center there wouldn't be any pressure. Just a thought :D

awww that sucks.

have you been doing any of the sitz baths in the tub?

I wish I knew where you could get the "top hat" sitz bath. those are great because you just attach them to the toilet seat and fill it with warm water and sit so there is no pressure on sensitive areas.

and LOL this is going to sound wierd but make sure you get a lot of fiber right now ;)

You know what might work? One of those small, flattish doggie bean bag beds. Even a memory foam cushion might help. They hold heat, which will help with blood flow and speed up the healing process.

(((((((HUGS))))))) Love you, Tinkerbell :)

it's probably a little late for it now but the day after they gave me these ice packs to sit on. That really helped. it was painful when I would first sit down on them but once the cooling took effect it was heaven. Really helped with any swelling.

But if it is just bruising now it might be too late for those.

Im going to try that tonight. We wanted to wait till my dad was here jsut in case Becuase my mom isnt big enough to help me if i need it. But for me right now the best thing to help is the shower set up to give dogs a bath (a hose adn sprayer attached to the sink and put in the shower lol.) And i know that for sure LOl. And they have me still on my "softening" prenatals and all the iron so I HAVE to make sure of it or im going to be in ALOT of pain.

Thats another good idea. HMMMMMM. i wish i had thought of that LOl then i could made my dad bring me his extra mem. foam pillow but hes almost here already. (YAY) Ive also put a low heating pad there wrapped in a blanket and that feels SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good.

(((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) Love ya Mom.

No I do that too LOL. The nurse showed me how to cut a diaper open and put crushed ice in it that way and put it there instead of the pad then as it melts it stays in the diaper.

We did the bilirubin test yesterday because it wasnt getting lighter she was actually getting more yellow it looked like. But she had a count of 17.7 and the dr. told us to keep up the sun exposure today and take her back tomorrow. So she goes back for another count tomorrow. I dont know how im going ot handle that. :( Hearing her scream like that when they poked her and were getting blood was horrible :(. On theother hand we had some slight dirty humor before that LOL. She had just went poop in her diaper and I geuss she wasnt completely done and they had to take her temperature rectally well as soon as the nurse put the probe of the thermometer in there she let a fountain of poop fly all over the table and the nurses hand LMAO.

AARon was orange as a carrot and they had him stay under the lights. He was born in May and would have adored the sunlight. Hope her count goes down.:(

At our hospital, anything over a level of 12.0 is considered a "critical" high value. Even though her bili level is technically considered a critical high... it's not so high that you need to be super worried about it. It's when it gets to the 20's that you have to start to really be concerned.

It's good that they are checking it to make sure it starts going down. I think I already mentioned in a previous post that the bilirubin levels are usually at their peak level (the highest) around the 3rd or 4th day of life.. then it starts to go down.

Keep stripping her down and putting her in a sunny window. The more she poops, the more she's getting rid of that bili. If her bili level doesn't start to go down they may want her to have home photo therapy... which is nothing more than a little portable bed with bili lights in them and she'd have to lay in that bed under those lights and only come out for feedings and baby care.

I know it seems terrible to see them stick her heel and watch her cry. But it truly is a tiny little lancet that just barely breaks the skin. I've had plenty of babies that don't even wake up when I do their blood work... and then of course there's plenty that do wake up and scream their heads off...lol.

Goodluck and keep us posted on her progress.
