    Big Problem with Fighting!

They should get nuetered just because they are already aggresive with each other but I disagree with giving one dog favor (higher status) than the other. To me that has always caused more problems. You need to be the boss. Let them know fighting is not ok and they are both "underdogs" in your...

    Too Skinny APBT!!!

I'll have to get a picture of him but it is funny cause he looks really good in his pictures. Before I met him in person his owners would come over and they showed us pictures of him Saying how skinny he is and everything. He is all white, but not albino. And I thought he was so pretty (not too...

    Too Skinny APBT!!!

I am going to slaughter the spelling but Eukanuba.....Plus they used to get some vet gravy powder stuff. It is like the stuff they give body builders when they want to gain weight but for dogs. Don't know if they are still using that anymore though. I'll have to ask them tonight.

    Too Skinny APBT!!!

They have done blood work and have found no abnormalities. Sugar level are normal so not diabetes. I think hyper thyroid or hypo. the one that makes you lose weight. Don't have a picture, but this dog isn't just skinny. He is Gaunt. You can not just feel but clearly see more than his ribs. His...

    Too Skinny APBT!!!

My friend has a white very hyper APBT. He has been to the vet many time (once every two weeks) and nothing is ever found wrong with him except a slightly higher temp which happens when he gets nervous. But he is extremely skinny. Looking at him would make most people cringe, he looks as if he is...

    Heart worm medications

YES AND YES!!!! Heartgaurd every 26th. I live in Southern Louisiana and they need it all year round but if the misquitos are almost nonexistant in the winter you can get away without giving them. One of my very first dogs (a stray) had heartworms and it is murder watching what it does to them so...

Who has a dog that is too big for the bathtub?

What about going to Toys-R-Us or some other little toy store and getting one of those cheap plastic kiddie pools (BTW they are on sale right now :) ) and using that to bath her outside or in you garage. Then fill a bucket on the side with warm water to rinse her with. Put the bucket...

what's wrong with my dog's ears?

that kinda looks like what my dog had when I got her except parts of her ear was scabbylike. They checked for ear mites and there wasn't any but they gave me a steroid cream and it cleared right up. You put it on twice a day and by the next it looked 100% better. I forgot what it was but can...

    Advice Welcomed

A lab mix is probally the safest bet. You can get one that won't get to big. 40-50 pounds just look at there feet if you get a puppy. Big paws = Big dog. And they are excellent with Kids. Labs are one of the easiest dogs to train in my experience. Or a Jack Russel Terrier. They get to be about...

    Thinking about Breeding.......

I am not getting mad, I hope it doesn't sound like that. But I did start this thread to get references on books and not to get in a debate. I hate typing I am much more of a "phone" or "in person" communicator because tone is everything and I don't have an angry tone right now. I appreciate the...
