Walmart steals. I hate Walmart. *spits on Walmart*

In Ohio, Walmart has the highest number of FULL TIME employees who are on WELFARE, and MEDICAID. I am SURE that cashier did NOT care, and may have even done it on purpose.

If it was any other non-Walmart-affiliated store, I would have gone back and corrected the mistake. Walmart should be very glad I don't shop there because I would probably go Robin Hood on their a$$es.

The other day I was shopping for a few groceries I need and I took my daughter with me (4 years of age). She wanted some soup so I grabbed a can and let her hold it while I continued shopping. Long story short we ended up at the car with it still in her hand and didn't pay for it. She said "Mommy you didn't scan this one." I looked at her and at that moment I knew that I had to set a good example for her. I took the can, walked back in with her and told the cashier we forgot to scan this because she was holding it in her hand. I paid and we left. The next day I went back for a few other things and I grabbed a pack of bottled water too. It was under the buggy and I checked out and oooopsy, I forgot to pay for it. I just threw it in the back of the truck and left that time. I was alone. LOL I figure going back to pay for the little can of soup covers me as far as karma is concerned. lol

firstly, no you wernt extreemly dishonest...
it was the cashires mistake and YOU didnt do it on purpose, you didnt go to the register with the purpose of not paying for the others, its not liem you left the others under the cart and didnt tell the cashire there were 2 more...you simply let them do their job, and any idiot can see that 3 boxes stacked is NOT one box.

had i have noticed in the store i would have gone back...
If it had been a smalll store in town or a mom and pop store i would have gone back too!
but at walmart, if i handt noticed untill i got to the car no i wouldnt have gone back.

i guess part of it is i used to work for walmart, i know how that place works and the mark up on things like that (while it seems low priced) is about 4x...they bump up thier priced aproximatly 3-4 times the actual price they pay for things (most retail/mom and pop stores only get 1.5-2x)
there also a terrible place to work. ive seen the way they screw over their staff and screretly screw over thsir customers so personally i wouldnt care too much. I figure walmart has enough bad karma comming their way that 1-2 SMALL litterboxes are not going to even dent.

Those people don't HAVE to work at Walmart and in my opinion they are lucky to have a job. In our economy today. I would love to have any job and be greatful for anything. If someone thinks Walmart "steals" than don't shop there period.

To add to that two wrongs don't make a right. If you think someone else steals that doesn't give anyone a right to steal too.

Things like this is an open door for a flood gate of where morals are heading down the drain. You may think its just a littler box but I beg to differ.

I'd go back in personally. My kids are usually with me and I never want to give them the wrong impression on stuff like this.
Ditto ^^^^^

Does matter who's fault is was, doesn't matter which store it was, doesn't matter if they are insured for that. If you acquired something that you didn't pay for and were suppose to and you don't make it right.........its stealing.

My mom is like that, where she has a stare down with the cash register to make sure that not one thing is overpriced, or that the cashier doesn't swipe something more than once. But I don't usually pay attention. And honestly, there have been times where I was charged for two things when I only got one, and I didn't go back cause I didn't really care at the time. (They were not expensive things, maybe 5 bucks each).

I definitely didn't STEAL them. Stealing is purposely taking something. I didn't do anything like that, it was the cashiers mistake for not scanning all three items. And I just realized it when I check the receipt (And the only reason I checked the receipt is because my mom had called to ask me what the total was so she could deduct it). If I had bought it with my own money, I would have rolled the receipt up without looking at it and thrown it away.

I can proudly say I have not shopped there in 2 years. And you should be glad you don't work at Walmart. It's a trap and they try to brainwash you when you start working there to try to make you believe Walmart is the best thing ever. I've worked there before. They treat their employees like sh!t. ANY job is better than Walmart. I would rather have a job shoving sharp pencils into my eyeball for someone's else's twisted amusement than work at Walmart.

Stealing is not what she did IMO. Stealing to me is deliberately taking something without paying/telling someone. She was home and realized much later that she had not paid for the items. I think what happened was an honest mistake. So what...the store lost what? 5 cents maybe. They were envelopes for crying out loud. The water I took was probably more than that. maybe a dollar? Wal-Mart is making sure they mark up more than enough to cover the incidentals I am sure. Hell they shut down all our mom and pop stores when they invaded our town. I have no where else to go to get what I need or I wouldn't shop there.

ETA: oops there were litter boxes. LOL I totally read that wrong.

That's very true. Since I would feel absolutely no guilt about such a thing and not have to rationalize it in the least, then if I did it, it wouldn't be wrong at all. :p

I wouldnt have went back. Things like this have happened to me before. And I dont speak up (If its already rung up and I've left the store). Its not dishonest since you didnt know at the time, its not like you were trying to get it for free, it was a fluke and their fault.espeacially a store as big as walmart they wont even notice.

I would have mentioned it at the checkout had I noticed . Outside at car ...forget it ! Especially at Walmart ! It didn't cost the checkout gal or the store any money . With 50% or more markup , it's even steven for them . If kids were with me ...yes . And I have gone back to store when something was left in the cart . I got a pool for the dogs a few years ago and noticed that there were two when I got home . Had I had help taking the darn thing to the car , they would have noticed it . I am an honest person , but .......
