I wasn't too fond of War of the World either...

I disagree with a few of you here, but for me it would be Phenomenon (the one with John Travolta), an anime called Metropolis and A Series of Unfortunate Events. I've seen a few movies that were not very good, but for those three it was really painful to watch...
A Series of Unfortunate Events was just that....a series of unfortunate events, for the viewer. pain in the a*s to sit through, very boooooring, little to no plot and I thought it was gonna be a good movie. Yeah, right. LOL

i love Sean Connery...old man or not...he's hot! :p

I agree with all about DreamCatchers...i thought it was gonna be like the book, but alas, it was not (just like many other book-to-movies). I do LOVE almost all Stephen King novels/novellas/short stories. He's a horror genius!!! I had an autographed poster as a child. I had sent a letter to his home address (or most of it at least...LOL) and enclosed one of my "scary monster" drawings. I received an autographed poster and a "thank you" letter for my picture saying he'd be sure to use it one day. Talk about a morale booster for a kid!!!! He's still my fav horror author.

that's just it...they weren't "unbeatable"....that's the point of the movie. they were killed by the common cold...which we've become used to over thousands of years. :) it's one of the reasons i liked it so much...a twist at the end.

....and it would have had potential if it wasn't sprung pretty much out of the blue. There was next to no lead-up what-so-ever, no realization that the aliens were weakening because of it and the explanation at the end was required because there was nothing to lead us to believe that a simple virus was killing them while the carnage was going on. That's where this movie truely failed. (just my take on it).

OH Lorri....you also hated The English Patient. HA! Dave and I thought maybe we were the only ones on the planet that had to snooze thru it.
The only thing worse than the movie was the book....I read it before I TRIED to watch it, and even then it was more than I could bear :(

Ask Andrew, I am FAMOUS for *dozing* through movies LOL

Recently, the Da Vinci Code. That movie was terrible. I know most movie adaptations of books are bad, but this one was terrible.

Also, I can't seem to stomach any white person meets black person resulting in racial innuendo and 'hilarious' consequences movies.

We rarely go to movies. Mostly rent or wait till they come on HBO. So, I hardly ever see a movie I don't like. If I don't like it, I turn it off, or in the case of things like the Piano or the English Patient or Mars Attacks, I simply never even think about watching them.

I like comedy- I'm a huge 3 Stooges fan, so stuff like the Naked Gun movies, parody stuff, Mel Brooks movies are all great to me. I also like any Arnold movie in all of his glorified cliche-ness.

Something that was so bad that I actually kept watching was some old anti pot movie called "Maryjane" starring former teen heartthrob Fabian. It was about a teacher who is trying to stop kids from smoking pot in the early 60's and he gets arrested for having pot that someone planted on him. He's trying to save this one kid from the dealers, and in the end the other teacher who was his girlfriend was the main dealer and was a heroin junkie. The moral, which we all know, is that that if you smoke pot one time, the next day you are out beating up old ladies for heroin money! It was so bad it was actually funny.

Most of the movies I really despised I can't remember the names of...

See Spot Run- walked out of the theater
Titanic-got kicked out of the theater b/c my cousin and I were just blasting it the whole time
The Hostel- SOO GORRRRY! and gore doesnt bother me but that was wrong on many levels...*shudders*
Some George Clooney movie where he and a couple guys are bagabums/homeless weirdo's from the south
A Danny Devito (or someone like that) movie that involved someone in a bunny suit? It was supposed to be scary I think?

i really hated :
napoleon dynamite (ok i haven't seen anyone mention this one but... ok i love stupid comedies but I HATE THIS MOVIE BEYOND WORDS. i was sitting there expecting this awesome movie that so many people were talking about and the funny parts never came!! i can only wish that my time i wasted watching this movie will forgive me someday for wasting it on the movie.)
war of the worlds (hated that little girl. now every time i see her i cringe. i know the movie was about the aliens and such, but in my mind all i remember was her getting in the way and screaming a lot. also come on! those kids were horrible. i mean if that really happened i wouldn't be like 'dude i want to fight those giant alien robot thingys!!' i'd listen to my parents and try to save my butt. obviously nothing is working on them so why would running att hem to fight work?)
all the pretty horses*or ponies couldn't remember the name* (rented this with some friends, we're so cheap that we hated the movie so much but refused to turn it off because we paid money for it. i just remember we kept asking when it was over but it never seemed to end. then when you think your lucky and it ended, it'd start back up)
passion of the christ (yes, i am christian. and yes i went with my church to see this. but freaking crap. it didn't make me want to repent, it didn't make me think about the bad things i've done, it didn't make me cry. instead it made me pissed that the gorefest had become the only thing the church spoke up, that little kids where there obviously freaked out and parents were like 'oh this is important for you to see'. personally i think it would have touched home a bit more if it were about his life and lessons and not about his extremely gruesome death. everyone in church knows he died but some things should not be put into movie for for everyone to watch)
