Both boys are registered with AKC, Karma will be dual-registered I believe with AKC/ABCA.

Just gotta throw my .02 in too, I agree with Manchesters... The ConKC is a joke. Someone on another dog site got her Anatolian Shepherd mix registered with them as an Anatolian... Then she got the same dog registered as an Akita!

just as a small note for people who own mixed breed dogs, or purebreds without papers from a breeder:

if you want to get involved in performance events with your dog, you can register them as well.

the UKC has a "Limited Privilege Program" that allows spayed/neutered mixed breeds and otherwise non-registereable purebreds to participate in most of their performance events.

the AKC equivalent is the "Indefinite Listing Privilege", but sadly it is limited to purebred (or at least "purebred looking") dogs. however, if you have a dog that isn't "quite purebred" but looks similar enough to an AKC registerable breed, it's usually accepted.

hopefully they will change their mind in the future tho, i don't understand why they don't want the money of people who would enjoy stuff like rally, agility and so on with their spayed/neutered mixed breeds.

Ckc Is Just A Registry To Get Mutts And Back Yard Pets That Don't Have Papers So To Speak A Certificate Means Absolutely Squat. The Only Good Those Papers Are Is Either For The Dog To Pee On Or For The Owner To Have Something Nice To Frame On Their Wall. Does Not Attest To The Quality Or Anthing Else Of The Dog. And Believe Me There Are Genuine Mutts That Can Pass For A Breed In Their Backgrounds. All Those Nock Off Registry's Are Formed By People Who Do Not Agree With Akc Policies. The Unsuspecting Public Pay Big Money For Dogs Reg. With Off The Wall Registries And It Isn't Worth The Paper Its Printed On. I Had A Ckc Form Given To Me By Someone All It Required Was A Pic Of The Dog And Your Money And Whoopee They Would Send Be A Certificate.........big Deal.

No one has APRI or DRA?
those are paper mills that supply puppy mills. nothing any responsible breeder or pet owner would ever want to have anything to do with.

AKC is only exclusive to themselves, which basically means if you don't have an AKC application, you won't get in.

Hmm, well that sucks.

I didn't think APRI was like that - I'm not too sure of DRA.

Ok I think some of you are mixing the 2 CKC clubs. The Continental Kennel Club is bad.The Canadian Kennel Club is as good as The AKC but is the Canada registry.

How much does it cost now to register a dog with AKC? I know it costs so much per puppy out of a litter.

I am just curious. ^^

I don't know if I am going to get my dog fixed. I'll see. I might want to stud him out after a year or so.
It depends, we paid $35 dollars I think (give or take a couple dollars). But we got the "gold" package which included her pedigree for three generations a video and a subscription to a magazine as well.
