I am ACA.

CKC to me is the Canadian Kennel Club and it was no where near the hurricane. Maybe the Contenntial Kennel Club got wiped out, otherwise known as the Con Club. You can register a mutt there so I kinda wonder about it.

CKC is Continental Kennel Club. I think they are in Lousianna. I work at a registry and I never heard of Canadian Kennel Club. Do you have a site for it? :)

They also do purebred registrations but it clearly states "purebred" on the certificate underneath their seal in the middle.

Aw, your GSDs are so cute. My dogs ears don't stand yet and I think it's because they were played with too much when he was little. :[

Ok I really on know about this CKC and the other one would be better left to someone who knows because they consider Puggles to be a purebreed there. Our CKC does not!

The Con Club is this one and I have never dealt with it but have heard horror stories. So maybe someone who has dealt with it can tell more information about it. But here is the link

Oh I meant the Canadian Kennel Club link. :] Sorry!

Hmm, I never heard any horror stories yet. You're the first. I think they got wiped out because everyone is sending their certificates to dual register to us.

."Dogs over 6 months of age which have no previous Registration history may be registered by providing 2 witness signatures attesting to the purebred status of the dog along with 3 photos (front, left and right) of the dog to confirm it is ‘of proper breed type’ as defined by our current CKC Registration Rules and Regulations. Canine Registration Applications are available in PDF format from our web site. ( click here) " Direct Quote taken from the continental club.

So if Tom and Dick say it is purebred and will sign a paper saying so and I can photograph or scan photos of a purebred I can register anything. It seems so easy most registeries ask for DNA and pedigrees at the very least.

There must be people here who have dealt with them and could share real experiences not things passed down from this person to that person to another and who knows what changed along the way.

I'm registered my lab with the AKC. Just because we had to papers and we wanted to, she's spayed so it's not like she can be shown or bred.

I know that some registries do that but the dog will be registered foundation stock, at least with us, which is clearly stated on the certificate. So basically, there is no information on the background. The pictures have to be color and they are approved by breeders/trainers at the association. I don't know how it is done at the CKC.

Also, we require some kind of like, proof that the dog is theirs, like, a reciept or transfer of ownership if it was bought at an auction.

How much does it cost now to register a dog with AKC? I know it costs so much per puppy out of a litter.

I am just curious. ^^

I don't know if I am going to get my dog fixed. I'll see. I might want to stud him out after a year or so.

Which registry do you work with? Does not matter to me just curious is all.

Oh and about the ears, Yukon was 5 months in that picture and one was up, once still flopped over. Now he is 6 months and they are up but that one will still tip at the top on ocassion. I do not worry about it at all though.

I'll just say one of the top in the nation. :]

Well my dogs ears are totally down, as you can see in my avatar picture. They sometimes come up when he is attentive. He is going to be 6 months this 18th. Your dog is so cute! I think his ears are cute with one of the tips down.

I'm not worried about it, but it's just that they stay down like, 95% of the time. So I am going to get them taped. Haha, I know, it sounds weird but I asked around and people think that I should do it. It never hurts to try. :D

Well, there are only two in this country that are of any importance.....AKC and UKC. ACA is nothing of importance to do with purebred dogs. Oh, yeah, and the Con Kennel Club IS A JOKE. Anyone who works with a dog registry would have heard of them and know all about them. They are the ones used by the puppy millers, since there are no restrictions on how many litters a year a b!tch can have, or how many litters a male can sire. They have no ethics, period.

In fact, it degrades a dog to have been registered with Con Kennel Club, rofl.

Breeder sent me papers to register with FCI/AKC but I never bothered to fill them out.

Who cares about papers, I can tell you myself that my dog is a pure breed simply by his look and temperament.

I could show him, but I dont see a point in dog shows.

Both of my dogs came with papers. I never filled out any paperwork and sent them anywhere so I guess mine aren't registered? I don't know, I never cared to even check. It doesn't matter to me.

We are registered with the AKC. It was 32 dollars for the registration and a 3 generation pedigree. I think just to register is only 15 dollars.
