There are a lot of factors...

In an ideal situation with normal dogs who are well-behaved, I think 3 would be my limit.

I just spent my weekend with 6 dogs, and that is WAY too many for me. Granted, 5 of those dogs were in the age range of less than 1 year-4 years, so their boundless amount of energy probably had a lot to do with why they were difficult to handle.

Our limit would be 4 if it was up to me, but my husband made me sign a contract agreeing to not having any more pets for 10 years! It was the only way to bring home Ruby. We have three now, but with 2 fish tanks, 2 cats, 2 cockatiels, and a rabbit, along with obedience training and work, I think 3 is our max (but I'm always ready for a 4th!)

At the moment, I think 3 would be a good number... I like having 2, but I could definitely accomodate a third! : D

In the future, my limit will probably be 4-5, depending on what breeds I have and my living/working situation. I would like to have 10 Corgis. Weell, maybe not 10, but a nice flock of them. And at least 1 Border Collie, of course!
Awww imagine the pitter-patter of ten Corgi's. LOL.

But you KNOW if the right "foster" dobe comes into your life, that you will have another one. (Seriously, I think that route would work.)

I think our limit is two, one "his" dog and one "hers".

Oh man... I myself could never sign something like that! SO would be booted faster than he could say Bobs-yer-uncle if he tried something like that... ;)

As we rent, the limit is 2!.
If we ever get our own house,I'll push for a 3rd one!.
Realistically,2 is enough unless i get a house with some land!.L

I think two is good, they keep each other company, but it is still easy to walk, feed, and care for.

I am definately not against the idea of having a third foster/rescue in and out every so often though :)

Right now I just have Walker and as hard as thats going to be on him I agreed to 3 only at least while the kids are still at home LOL. And one spot is for my future Kharma bitch and the other a puppy from my Kharma bitch. IF i come across a older Beagle rescue when we move if we are allowed more then 2 dogs then I will rescue one but until then it is Walker.

One. I used to have two at the same time and it is hard as they have different personalities and I am a one-person dog as well as I want my dog to be. But I am willing to share him with my husband...for now.

IMHO, Three is a PERFECT number of dog to have!

When you spend individual time to train/walk/play with one, the other two play with each other & no one is left out.

I think if I lived alone then 2 would be my ultimate limit... once I'm married and have someone around to help out a bit then I'd probably go as far as 3 or 4 max

Living on my own, probably just 2, maybe 3. Living with someone else to help out, 3 to 5.

I think two is a good number--three is tempting, but might be pushing the limits of my husband's patience-lol!

A lot depends on the dogs.

Aside from the money aspect, although Tallulah eats about as much as Kharma does , it would be WAY easier to live with five or six Filas than with two or three APBTs :rofl1:

LOL well this township has no limit on # of dogs :D

But seriously I wouldn't want less than 3 but 8 we have now is more than I would want for me. But there is no way we would give up any of the 'regulars' (Cargo is still here and looking for a home).

Dekka, Snip and Bounce are my dogs. Scandal is Darien's, Dash is hubby's, and Kaiden is the 'family' dog. Zo really isn't anyones (but I still love her... she just has issues)
