I thought this would be an interesting question. What is your limit of dogs? My parents haven't set one, but when I move out, I will limit myself to 4 dogs.

Since I'm renting, I can only have 2, but we've already talked about being fine with having 4 when we have a place that allows it or we own a home (he wants a Corgi and I want a Chinese Crested next)

My limit is 3. I had 5 once and it was just me, I had a hard time feeding all of them and keeping up their vet stuff. 1 person for 5 dogs isn't enough. It's hard at times to have 3 dogs on my own.

I think 2 is a good number for our house. I wouldn't say NOWAY to adding a third, but with rising vet costs, food, and basic needs, I think it fair to say that 2 is expensive enough.

2 dogs and 1 parrot, 5 kids, and 1 husband. I think my time is fairly occupied! :D

Right now, one is my limit.

Three months ago I would have said 4 or 5, but I think it will be more like 3. Being a grown-up takes a lot of time.

I have had as many as 17 here, 5 were rescues, one litter of pups the rest were my dogs..................way to many. I down sized to 6.........too many.
At this time I have 5, too many. When I was working full time plus teaching obedience and agility, along with having horses, a kid, hub and a small farm. Too much, couldn't train or give enough quality time to each dog.
In all honesty, 2 would be a good number, maybe three. But I (we) wont rehome the dogs we have, each dog has their person and they have been part of the family for many years now. In the event that my health gets worse, I will seriously consider sending Kiah back to her breeder. My husband and son can only be expected to take on so much..............

Well the limit is 2 in my homeowner's association, but I would like to have 3. I do not feel I could afford to properly care and feed more than 3.

I've had up to five plus rescues and visitors .( Not counting litters ) I'm down to only one permanently due to finances and age , but have 4 around me now and they will be in my twin bed soon !

Two seems to be the limit here. I would like to have three, but they would have to be the same size. Like three large dogs, or three medium. If they were small dogs we could have about four though.

I think 2 is going to be a good number for me. After these two I'd like to have one young, active dog and a senior. But I have a loooooong time to think about that with these two driving me insane. :p

Well, 2 has always been plenty for me, and I've never had any intention of having more,

BUT

. . . IF Slade's career is incredibly successful, and he ends up siring a litter or two before he's neutered, I will definitely want one of his sons. So until the bf's dog were to pass away (he's only 5) we'd be up to 3.

If I'm ever single again, 2 would be my definite limit. They'd have each other for company, but there wouldn't be so many it'd be complete insanity.

2 i would not have kept Pepper if Mary hadn't been so advanced in age. so that is the only reason there are 3 now.

For right now, my litmit is one, I live with 4 but only Buster is mine. 4 for this family (particularily with the 4th being Harry) is too hard, we all have such differing opinions on food, training etc that we argue about it a lot.

When I move out, I'd like a second, and a few years later, a third. But it depends on my renting situation a lot and my cash situation. I won't try to rent with 4, so untill I buy my own place, I won't push past three I'd say.

I could probably handle maybe 5-6 if 2-3 were small dogs with lower energy levels. Unless i had land, I couldn't have as many working bred dogs as I would like.

I thought it was 5.....

I'm thinking 6 may be it, but maybe 7.

In my apartment, the limit is one, but I didn't set that one. I'm thinking after I move out of the blasted apartment I'd at least like 2-3. I may only be able to have one or two until I get more $$$.....

Once you've had a good sized pack, it's hard having just the one dog! I really like 5 as a number.
