I'm Native American (Sioux) and German Nazi ...
I can not believe you said that. You should ask your parents a little better about that part of your heritage before throwing that title around like that. I don't get offended about that easily, but you hit my spot right on with this.
I don't even know what you want to say with I am "German Nazi". So.. you are part German. No reason to put the Nazi behind it unless that's something you are proud of. Other than that, I guess it is just a little dramatization on your part.

Hmm... Next time I meet new people I should introduce myself with "Hi, I am Julia, I am a German Nazi." ****.:mad::mad:

I have to say, I've met ALOT of germans in my time (exchanges, family friends, tourists, holidays) and I am yet to meet ONE (one!!) who describes themselves as German Nazi.

Not ONE.

That would be like introducing yourself as American KKK. Or Polish Skinhead Racist *******. Or proclaiming your ancestors were involved in the Rwandan genocide everytime you spoke about your ancestory...

* off subject*

I have a lot of Native American in my family and when I was younger my friends and I always wanted to get together paint our horses up when they have those wagon train things and go charging down at them whooping and hollering and shooting sticky arrows at the wagons. Not sure why this thread spurred that memory but it did,LOL. We never did of course because we were afraid of spooking all the horses on the wagon train thing and getting people hurt. But we had fun talking about it.

*okay you can go back to arguing now*

I really cannot read through all 60some pages, but thought I would add :lol-sign:

I live in canada, but worked for customer service for a company in the US for over years. I have dealt with most states from everything wrong billing, tech support, supervisor escalations etc

I have visited the US as well in NY state and MI, so I think it can now state my opinion, :lol-sign:

In terms purely of people and how they act its not really that
*everyone* fits into this scenario, but as a whole Americans
have more of a "me, me, me, and the hell with
everyone else" entitlement thing.

For example on sept 11th the company I worked for one of
its offices was in the trade center, it was destroyed with
everything else. One customer said "I don't care, I want
my service", I wanted to say "sorry sir, tons of people
are dying and I will tell you where you can take your
service!" So unbelivable insensitive, I wish I could say
it was only one person...

Of course there are always bad apples, but the
customer service in Canada and in the US and the
peoples attitude differences really surprised me when I first
started.

I believe Mellisa is slightly confused about her nationality. A political party affiliation is not a nationality. She is Native American and also of German decent, period. During the time period, the Nazi party had a following in many places including America. They had a rally in Madison Square Garden, but they weren't Germany Nazi, they were Americans. Party affiliation has nothing to do with nationality. For example, if many here were asked what is your nationality, they wouldn't say I am an American Liberal, the would say I am an American (assuming not ashamed to admit that). So, despite the Nazi party originating from Germany, there were American Nazis, Austrian Nazi, Chech Nazi, etc., assuming that was their party affiliation.

Mellisa, regardless of who your grandparents supported in politics, people now only associate themselves with being a Nazi because they like that kind of stuff, not because of national identity. The memorabilia and such in your attic could be worth a few bucks. There are collectors that will pay a considerable sum for some of that stuff. If there are any pistols around that are "Nazi proofed" (has the Swastika), do your homework, they could bring in some good money. Flags, buttons, pins, glass wear, lampshade, war medals, can of Zykon B gas, etc., all has value to the collectors.

Polish Skinhead Racist..
Im sure you, as an English citizen, is aware that the original Skinhead movement included both blacks and Pakistanis. Im also sure that you being English know that the Skinhead movement started among the English working class.

And I am sure you know, having more than 2 braincells (I thought) that I was just adding a few random examples. And that the skinhead movement in Poland is pretty prelevant. Not getting deeply entrenched in history.

Wow.

If by chance anybody is interested in endorsing a Native American holiday in the USA go to this website: :D

http://www.petitiononline.com/indian/petition.html
I hesitate to say anything, but eh, here goes anyway........LOL

Ok, I don't understand WHY the Indian nation would be petitioning the federal government for a holiday change.

The citizens of the reservation govern themselves.........the federal government has nothing to do with their laws, NO taxes, what holidays they do or do not observe, and many other things of the like. They educate their own children as well. The federal government cannot even enter a reservation to haul out known criminals or kidnappers still holding the kids.

Correct any area I am wrong about, I could have some facts messed up :)

So it makes me a little confused on the point. If I/we don't like a holiday celebrated by another government we should just petition them to change it? "Hey Canada.........we don't like your holiday <insert name here> so we would like it changed to <insert name here>.........thank you" And do you think Canada SHOULD change it if enough people sign???

Don't get me wrong.........I don't give a hooey patooey about Columbus Day, it just means the banks are closed and I won't get my mail.

Honestly if we wanted to change the day........the federal government should probably change it to something honoring England for colonizing it. I mean that IS the origins for the USA right??

And before anyone gets crazy and accuses me of hating Native Americans......I DO have Native American all through my mothers side, Blackfoot tribe.

Lol, very true. Unfortunatly a lot people from different countries who are part German, don't know anything about their German ancestors (I've met a bunch) and will just say; I'm part German Nazi - none the less nothing to be pround of.

-On a side note the NPD is about to be forbidden here in Germany, finally.-

It's strange, when talking to people here about their background, it has come up many times whether or not people come from convict heritage. I was told I'm not, well actually my grandfather told my mum a couple of half well known governors are in our ancestory soemwhere but I dunno where or if thats even true. And my dads family came over later to settle and lost a heap of kids on the boat trip.
The heritage of mine that I know about is English, Irish, Scottish, Spanish and German. Got a lot of the Scottish stuff, red hair, pale skin etc. My last name I got told was Scottish but we all agree it sounds much more Spanish. wish you could DNA test people... can you? lol
