My sister's name is annie, but she goes my her middle, heidy.

I hate that my prents wanted to be unique too....they spelled by name Nathalie...and everyone wants to pronounce the h, beinging it there...but its a silent letter...so its the same as saying natalie.

People call my Tie-Funny all the time. -_-
Aaron wanted me to add that I call my mom "Mumsie Dearest" if I want something. He thinks its hilarious. I think he's a brat.

I'd say 90% of the time I call her by her name, lol.
I call my dad by his name, too.

Otherwise it's just mom... I've never called her mommy, and if she's ignoring me I'll use mother.

I never called my father dad, or anything, always be his nickname. Its the way my mom raised us, but I think it really upsets him though that his children never refer him to dad.

For you guys with babies, what would you like your child to call you?
any form of mom

I would never call my mom by anything other than some form of mom and I can't imagine Hannah ever doing it either.

I don't know... I guess I just find that calling the person who raised you by their first name is so disrespectful. I would NEVER call my mother by her first name EVER. and I hope Hannah never does it. I think it would really hurt my feelings if she felt the need to call me by my first name instead of by some for of "mom".

I call her Mom. I called her Mommy until around the first grade, LOL

Same with my kids, they call me Mom, and called me Mommy until they were older.

They did the same with Kevin.........he's Dad now, but was Daddy when they were younger :)

Mom--unless I really needed to get her attention, then I would call her by her first name (it always worked!)--and I don't think it was disrespectful at all-it's all in the way it's done.

My kids call me Mommy--even my 21 and 18 year old sons--by their choice! I actually sign cards/notes to them as Mom. :) But it's up to them--and I guess I am a Mommy!

Well to call her by her first name to get her attention or in a crowded store...

but to just call her by her first name all the time and never call her mom to me isn't very respectful.

My mom never minded "mommy" when I was y ounger lol but she hated it when I was older and we would go out somewhere and I would call out for her and say "Mommy? mommy where are you" lol for some reason she thought that was embarassing haha.

I think it's up to the Mom in question if it's disrespectful or not. My Aunt didn't want her kids to call her mom when they were growing up. I never understood it, but that was her preference. They all call her mom now, and their kids call her Momaw (I don't know how you spell that, LOL)

And I missed it when my kids felt 'too old' to call me mommy. They decided on their own when to switch to mom, I think it had everything to do with being at school and hearing the other kids refer to theirs as just MOM.

I can't imagine being "embarrassed" by my kids calling me Mommy.........I think it's endearing :)

I think calling a parent by their given name is weird and rude . Even at 94 my Mom refered to her father as Daddy .........she never called her Mom anything but Mother .

WHen I was little, I called my mom Mumzie. =D

But then when I turned 9 and until this day (I'm 18) I call her Roxannna, her real name. I might call her mom when she starts acting like one though.
