I'm leaving tonight for a dog show, and he's going to work, so we did V-day yesterday.

He made dinner (tempura battered everything), and gave me my gifts (chocolates! dove and lindor, and a cute new wallet), plus a really stupid card--it's an ugly get well card that he wrote 'because you're one sick cat' inside. idk; he pegged it right because I couldn't stop laughing.

I got him the apples to apples 'trendy' snack pack/expansion thing, and a card that said 'you're so handsome I mustache you to be mine.' It's dumb but cute.

We did not spend anywhere near $260 combined... but his birthday is on the 19th and for V-day/birthday gift, I'm going to take him to boot barn and get him some new boots. That might be closer to the $130 mark.

What are we doing for Valentines day? SHOVELING lol. Snow, snow and more snow. 12+ inches yesterday morning, 6 more inches last night and up to 5 more inches tonight lol.

I told him to pick his favorite meal for dinner and I'll make it and he was reluctant and said that he wanted me to just be able to sit and relax because I've been working so hard the last few days (remember... the shoveling lol). That's all I needed :) just to know I'm appreciated. I'm still making his favorite meal LOL which also happens to be one of my favorite meals too haha

He sent me a text this morning saying I was the only one he'd be a valentine for.

Which, for him, is a big deal to say. So I'm happy. :)

*I* sent him a Valentine's package with lots of red and pink things, a sock monkey in a cutesy mug (because he hates monkeys), and some Tag-a-Longs and candy. And a card.

Not going to lie... I'm pretty proud of myself here:

(don't mind the mess, I just made it so it's surrounded by the remnants from making and my school books. LOL).

I won't get my flowers until tomorrow because of the snow. :-/

We haven't done gifts since our first year of dating, but we normally dress up all fancy and go for a fancy dinner because its the only time of year that a lot of the good restaurants in the city offer set menus, which we find that are a better value than ordering ala carte. Plus, chefs tend to be more adventurous/showy with set menus.

But this year we're just going to stay in, because getting married made us boring. lol.

Roses are pretty, Candy is fine, that thing is awesome... will you be my valentine? :rofl1:

Looks like we are all getting SICK for Valentines. I've been napping on the couch since I got home from the preschool, Hannah has a 100 degree fever so far and Brian is working like a trooper but it just about ready to drop.

Well, I was planning on getting all fat on Chinese food and wine, but it's dumping snow on us right now and the roads are pretty crappy (haven't seen a single plow go by) so... I think I'm just going straight home and then gonna stay there.
Forever.

Sure! :) But I'm not sure this would survive the trip to Canada. HaHa.
I volunteer, then!!

I was going to hang out with my friend and drink tequila/provide moral support about his jerkface boyfriend, but I'm exhausted and just want to go home. So I'm going to bed. Bed sounds lovely.

We do not celebrate Valentine's Day, however, I do take advantage of the candy being on sale afterwards. :)
Haha I love this thinking as it is similar to mine...we dont celebrate it but take adventage of the candy being on sale afterwards ;)

My whole family never celebrated valentines day. Want a day of love and giving? we highly encourage that; in fact , you can make it much more than once a year. I mean, it doesnt HAVE TO BE on the 14th of Feb.
