Just remember... obedience is nothing but tricks! ;)
Indeed it is!!! I'm excited to get back in to it and keep trucking towards our CD (my ultimate obedience goal). I'm really working those fronts, now using targeting (which has her SO PUMPED!), and getting a more precise heel just using fun game-type things :D

So, I thought PWCorgi's idea was frggin' brilliant. Targeting a post it note? Heck yes!

So I colored a piece of tape and stuck it on the wall. Had Zander target it with his nose.

He got SO amped and excited at such an EASY thing to do after these last few tricks, that he ate the tape.

......And now he's licking the wall.

Bamm knows this one already. I think I'm going to work on it with Cricket this time around.

Here's Bamm demonstrating though.

Well Bamm was freakin' adorable in his video!
And Cricket looked lovely as always playing with her leaves :p

I think we might bow out of this one... Got some other stuff to do with spin, and I want to get her back in to obedience mode a bit more before we start classes in a couple of weeks. But we did this already, as is seen in these videos:

Pretty sure I just fell in love with this dog <3

Video! And it's on our new Youtube channel too. :D It's long-ish. First half is mostly touching, so you can skip through that if you like. Ends in a closed door, though! Bonus - sit pretty and spin are in there, too.

Oooh - I can't wait to start! I'm thinking bottom drawer in the kitchen to start Abby off (hoping it won't be too heavy) and I'm also thinking target like PWCorgi and Lyzelle.

Love Bamm's door closing. Those videos of Kimma are wonderful! Sounds like you guys are going to have a lot of fun with the obedience.

Ok, I may have been converted from "shaping's a pretty cool technique" to "OMG SHAPING" in a single trick. Since I didn't think I'd be stellar at luring this, I decided what the heck, I'd try shaping even though I'm not stellar at it.

Beginning of our session today. I'm using this wee drawer because our house is a tiny 1 1/2 story with tiny rooms and funhouse curves, so real doors aren't amenable to filming.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8P_QgwJuhjc?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

A bit later. Between the above video and this one I have heavily edited out about 10 minutes of sitting, staring, lying down, the cat wandering through, and walking over to play with Maisy.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/I5FiXk5EJ_k?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

After a break, we came back to it, and it was like someone flipped a switch! I know I'm not really supposed to say anything at all, but I am weak. Anyway, BEHOLD.
