Anyone have suggestions for noise sensitive dogs? Crystal has been taught to target the door with her two front paws, but once we did it with the door slightly cracked, the noise startled her. Now she doesn't trust the door. I've re-done it with the door closed, and she does it perfectly, but any tips to reduce/prevent the noise the door makes when it closes?

I worked this with the girls today. Zinga picked it up super quick and here's her video from start to finish. I will keep working on it to get her to do a stronger push but the door I'm using isn't the easiest to shut and she's not very big. These sessions were all done within 15 minutes of each other, just worked Zuma between each session.

Zuma is having issues trusting the door, right now I have her making contact with the door with one paw but not enough to close it. So we are taking it a bit slower with her, I'll post the video when I get a little further.

Way to go, Zinga! lol She's so fun. You should have had her kick the door closed with one back paw, though.

I would probably bring her over and open and shut it yourself, rewarding her for staying calm and making it a positive thing. Start building up to closing it harder because that's probably what will happen if she jumps up on it.

I thought about it... but then she ended up squishing a back leg in the door because she's special. So I decided to think of safety first and go with front paws.

We have officially given up on spin. Murphy is hurt, again, and Tipper apparently hates spinning with every fluffy orange fiber of her barky self.

Me n Tipper started on closing doors today and this is the calmest shaping session I think we've ever had. I like it.

Thanks for the advice! I'll have to try that tomorrow :)

Everyone looks like they're doing so good with their dogs!
