Anything your dogs are scared of, be it logical or silly.
Lui hates the vacuum cleaner, he sees it move, even when it's off, and leaps up and runs off. No-one has ever scared him with one so I don't know why, he just does.
He also hates fireworks, with very good reason. They nearly banned the public sale last year, and have now restricted sale to 4 days, so for the next week I'm watching him and looking after him at night, but the Rescue Remedy is helping.
Anyone else got anything to say on dog fears? Or on fireworks and your dog(s)?

sly doesn't really have any fears. he respects the the roster's space a keeps his distance. i don't think he's been around fireworks yet. plan on getting some next year. he's not usually scared of anything.

mickey isn't scared either.

That's the thing though, Lui is usually brave, then he hears one firework and runs from room to room, starts drinking heaps, and starts shaking... It's so sad

The vacuum cleaner is number one. If I leave it standing in the living room she won't walk in that part of the room at all.

Wow, that's worse than Lui, if he see it move he leaps and runs, but that's all, but I note that he does avoid it like that a bit, in case it's gonna jump up and attack him or something.

He's scared of getting too close to the vacuum. Hairdryers. Popcorn in the microwave (he raced around in circles barking and leaping at it, looking at my mom and I like we were crazy to let the popcorn pop unchecked.. roflmao). Strangers leaning over him/petting him on the head.

Like most of the dogs here, Orson is scared of the vacuum and any other "motorized" item like remote cars, robots, etc. He is also not very fond of fireworks or thunder.

I don't know if it is a fear reaction, but he is also having aggression issues with kids foot scooters and skate boards lately. We are working on it.

I haven't found anything that frightens Phoebe.........she is a pretty even keeled dog.

Virgo is scared of thunderstorms...not sure about fireworks. She's not a fan of the vaccum but basically ignores it until it almost touches her, then she gets up and moves a foot away and lays back down.

Sawyer will back off to watch what the vaccum is doing, or barring enough distance, will hop up on my bed and call it good. He doesn't like short, sharp sounds like clipboards snapping, but doesn't freak out. He just looks at it like "i'm sorry, what did I do?" Storms and fireworks don't phase him in the least.

Both dogs are pretty balanced overall.

My golden KC isn't afraid of much, some things may startle him when he first sees them but he'll usually go investigate afterwards. He sleeps through all sorts of storms and could care less about fireworks.

My other 2 Niko and Chi are deathly afraid of thunder and lightening and fireworks. It kills me to see them so terrified. I end up crating them when storms roll through.

Strangely enough none of them are afraid of the vacuum. They chase it around the room, stalk it, then pounce on it. One tried to drag it off into the other room

yoshi - vacuum and anything that makes a vacuum like sound like the hairdryer. also for some reason i bought this big alarm clock from walmart it was big and round and had a zodiac symbol in the back. anyway it was on my bed and fell forward toward her and she took off lol so don't know the story behind that fear o_O

BALLOONS!!!!!!! :yikes: Brody is terrified of them! When we have a party and he sees them he is right back up the stairs in a flash. So for parties he stays in my room when it is over he sneaks down to make sure they are gone and for days after he is looking at the ceiling to make sure they are not up there.:lol-sign: I should not laugh about it because he is really scared of them but it is funny how he has to make sure they are gone. He is so scared all I have to say is the word balloon and he comes running to me every time. This may be mean but he has an issue with eating or trying to eat frogs and he just gets into this zone when he is hunting for them and he will not listen to anyone. We usually have to resort to dragging him in the house on a leash BUT not since I discovered the magic word,:yikes: BALLOON! Is this mean to continue this? I figure if there is ever some time that he would get out or something all I would have to do is say the word. I rarely use it only when he is going after spiders and frogs.

Erm.... She was scared of a bush once.

But not a lot really.

She doesn't like the noise of her metal food bowl when it's empty! Only because spaz here threw it on the floor once and it did a mega clang and she nearly crapped her self... since then she doesn't like it when I pick it up.... I don't blame her really.... It's nothing major though.

Fergus is nervous when railroad crossing guard arms start chiming and coming down when we are on a walk, he doesn't trust them. He notices things up high, like flags etc and is highly suspicious of all of them. :)

Milo: not much. he's not a big fan of the vacuum if it's moving towards him but other than that he's fine. He was terrified of Watermelons when he was a puppy though, it was so cute.

Benji: anything that moves, looks funny, makes noise, or just doesn't seem right. This includes a bag of dog food, his dish until it stops moving, plastic bags, when the throw pillows are in a different spot, the hamster, etc.
