If its black and somewhat fluffy coated with a bit of white on its nose, its a border collie.

Its it black but chort haired with a little bit of white on its nose, its a pit bull.

If it has any color of coat, but is stocky, its a pit bull

If its brindle, its a pitbull or a pit bull mix.

If its short, long haired and smash faced its a shitzu

If its loose and over 10 lbs, its a pit bull

If its brown with really floppy ears, its a hound. Because you know that only dogs who resemble a blood hound are really hounds. The rest are beagle mixes.

If it has a red nose its a pit bull. If its toy sized, then its either a pitbull puppy or a pit bull mix.

If you have two dogs that look even remotley similar( they both have long hair, or both have speck of black in them) then one must be the baby of the other.

All blue tick coon hounds are actually a blood hound dalmation cross.

This

is obvioulsy a German Shepherd/Dalmation cross. because of the spots and flecks and the one ear that is sticking up. At least that is what I was told by some very sure of themselves person.

Shelties aren't actually a breed, they are just miniature collies.

Oh Gosh, I used to get that ALL the time when walking these two:

"Is that one the other one's Baby??" "Are they Brothers?" Are they the same breed?"

Yeah, they're both some sort of Doberman/Dachshund Hybrid. "Doberschund." Not very well Developed, yet. Needs work.

By the way, one weighs 15 lbs, the other weighs 105.

Apparently I have a mommy dog, a daddy dog and two babies even though I have two different breeds. Didn't know shelties could pop out papillons!

And of course if you have two dogs of the same breed, they must be siblings. I don't know how many times I have to explain Nik and Trey aren't related at all. At least Beau and Rose are so I can just nod. lol

Yup, absolutely viscious. She will lick anyone to death given half the chance. I still think she's just trying to get to the tootsie roll center when she's licking my head.

Anything that has shorth hair, a square muzzle and wrinkles is a bulldog, like boxers, sharpeis, etc.

Since any small dog that is white and has curly hair is a poodle, then the dogs of the other colors are called "terriers" just terrier beacause there's only one type of terrier, terries can be white but only if the hair is wavy.

The breed boston terrier dosen't exist.

They are really boxer puppies or a minuature boxer, or a boxer terrier.

Since is like a boxer and is small like a terrier = boxer terrier.

Shelties are in fact:

Miniature Lassies or, if you're well-educated, a miniature collie.

American Eskimos are ALWAYS samoyeds. or sometimes arctic foxes. But usually Samoyeds.

Small dogs with short muzzles are Pug mixes.

Large dogs with short muzzles are Boxer mixes.

If a dog's legs seem too long for its body, it's an Italian Greyhound mix.

Any dog which looks like a larger, standard breed but is smaller than expected is automatically mixed with Chihuahua.

Shih Tzu, Lhasas, Bichons, and Yorkies are Maltese mix.

Every time we take sierra (Our Obviously old, Lumpasaurus, crazy girl) we get EVERY time OH WHAT A CUTE PUPPY!! Because she is sheltieXHusky and looks like a miniature mal...

Never fails... I tell them no shes a mix, and 14 years old.... sometimes I think they obviously don't believe me but if someone bred a dog like her they are insane as she has fatty cysts, cloudy eyes, and other old dog issues to her!

And of course this means we can send kids up to run and hug on her, even though she suffers from dementia.....

Yeah she doesn't go out much anymore due to stupidity like this!!!

How about all the self-appointed experts we run into who have never seen or heard of a long-haired Chihuahua? They think it's a Papillon mix or mini-Pom mix. They just assume all Chi's are hairless.

The interesting ones are those who think Shadow is wolf or part wolf, though I can understand that mistake.

At the dog show this weekend the DM Sheltie Club had "Shelties- the Un-collie." stickers.
Haha, that's funny!

I love collies, but I always always always get asked about my 'Miniature Lassie' or 'Miniature Collie'. It gets old. and shelties are one of the most popular breeds worldwide too!

i've heard people WITH shelties tell me it's a miniature collie.

Umm. Unless that's a new thing, i don't think so.

Yeah that is sad. And I really think that Shelties are more popular nationally than collies are. Which makes it even worse. I blame Lassie. lol
