My fall semester just started.

I've got Microeconomics and Intro to Chemistry.

I figured this would be a good place to post the good and the bad of the semester! Anything related to your courses (instructor venting, class problems, homework, ect) is welcome.

I just finished the reading for my Chem homework. My instructor seems pretty fun, so I'm excited to see what this class has to bring. First lab tomorrow. :D

If I threw the textbook at you for my 7 credit class I would not only NOT need to aim it to hit you, but it would kill you. Also, it reads like a dictionary... Not looking forward to this....

Chemistry is fun! I really enjoyed the chemistry classes I took, so much so that I almost ended up a Chemistry major but switched to ME at the last moment lol

I'm taking Statics, Thermodynamics, Metallic Processing, and Intro to Engineering Graphics. My semseter doesn't start until the 25th so I haven't got to meet my professors, but I've heard two of them are really cool. I'm just excited to really start my Mechanical Engineering classes and am just plain excited for this semester! It's going to be tough, but I feel like it's going to fun as well. :D

This is my first full semester of online courses... I'm taking four online classes.

- Networking I
- Ethics & The Information Age
- Network Essentials
- Microcomputer Operating Systems

It's taking a lot more discipline on my part, but I'm liking it thus far. Going for a degree in Information Assurance & Cyber Security. :)

I like this thread idea! What year is everyone?

I almost wasn't able to go back to school this year, my senior year, because we owe the school so much money. But I've just taken out a ridiculous amount in loans instead. I can't miss my last year. Classes started last Wednesday and I am just registering today because it took a while for the loans to get approved. Hopefully I don't have too much trouble catching up.

I will be taking...
Organic Chemistry (take two, chemistry and I don't get along)
Cell and Molecular Biology
Animal Social Systems
Intro to Psych
Race/Class/Gender: A Sociological Perspective
Citizenship

It's a full load this semester, but I'd rather load up now than 2nd semester when I'm more interested in graduating than going to school.

It'll be my first year off campus and I can't drive. We're about 5 miles from campus, so I guess me and my bike are going to be best friends. I'll be in good shape by the end of this semester!

If I threw the textbook at you for my 7 credit class I would not only NOT need to aim it to hit you, but it would kill you. Also, it reads like a dictionary... Not looking forward to this....
:yikes: We don't even HAVE 7 credit classes.

I've got a couple tough classes this semester, but I'm trying to offset that by only taking three!

-Advanced Russian I
-Animal Physiology
-Seminar and Research in Marine Ecology

It's been almost a year since I've been in Russian, but I think that will probably be my easiest class...Animal Phys is with a professor I really like so that'll be hard but enjoyable.

The marine class is with my thesis advisor, and I'll be working on sclerochronology in soft-shell clams with him. I'm a little nervous, but I think it's going to be good if I keep up with the work and the lab stuff I need to do.

AHHHH school!

Do I count, even if I'm on the other side of the desk?

I'm teaching 3 eight grade algebra, and 2 "algebra remediation" classes (kids who are double blocked in math, with 90 minutes every day). My kids are looooooooooow this year :( We gave a pretest today on 7th grade topics everyone should be proficient in, and I had a lot of 0's, 1's, and 2's out of 12 :(

Hoping that they come to love algebra (or at least see success in it) by the end of the year.

I have practicum that I actually took over the summer but am paying for this semester. I loved it, it was in the Farms area, and I still volunteer in that area. LOVED IT.

I also have practicum in North American Prairie. I've only had 3 days, but so far it's just "meh" for me. Hopefully that will change. Thursday afternoons is "project day' which I'm sort of dreading. Last week I was climbing on a roof to clean gutters and fearing for my life. I have shitty balance, and I was not a fan. I never feared for my life in Farms or even in the Veldt despite being charged by a rhino.

And finally, my one on-campus class. Principles of Management. The short code for the course it the very fitting "BSAD" :( The teacher is a pompous jerk and doesn't tell the class anything, just expect stuff to be done. YOU HAVE TO ASSIGN THE ASSIGNMENT IF YOU WANT US TO DO IT, JERK. I really hate him, and I don't know if he can manage to change that before the semester's over. Our last class sounded more like a sermon than a lecture. He's so ****ing condescending, too. Douche.

I'm taking two seminars (one in microbiology I think and one in biogeochem) and teaching three intro biology labs.

And finishing my summer project.

I'll be swamped, lol.

My semester didn't go as plan. Most of my much needed art classes shut down due to low enrollment. Had to pick classes I wasn't planning on taking. I have Intro to Bus( only class I wanted to take), Digital Photography, and Human Growth and Development. The classes are actually kind of interesting, thankfully.

Yes! You are more than welcome to join in!

:( That sucks. I would hate to have to plan for classes last minute.

Right now i have bakeshop. Not sure for how long, but the biggest challenge will be refraining from eating ALL THE THINGS and getting fat.

Daughter just started two weeks ago. Freshman year of a 6 year program. She's got a full load to start out, too. Calc, chem and bio with all of the associated labs plus some "first year foundations" course that's sort of a "general ed" thing.

I already hate my Calc professor. If I stay in his class, his lectures are going to be absolutely pointless. I could tell I wasn't the only one going "Wtf?" I'm planning on going to the TA discussion tomorrow before making a decision on whether or not to switch. I just got an email saying the TAs will be discussing L'Hopitals tomorrow. If that's what he was lecturing about today then I may not comprehend the English language as well as I thought I did.

I'm only taking three classes, but 14 credits. Graduating and then double majoring in two completely unrelated subjects was such a great idea. :p

I registered for an Econ class where the professor had written the book. I dropped after the first class. No thank you.

Jealous. I wanna go back to school.

Does it officially mean I've turned into my parents now that I've said that???
