Ok sorry to spam the crap out of this thread, but I just called the shelter and the people who put a hold on the dog I like didn't come get her. I'm going to see her at noon tomorrow!

If this winds up being my dog, everyone in the world will get after me for it, because she's the exact opposite of what I say I like. In terms of looks and type (and after I've been whining about all my specific wants, too...) There's just something about her that makes me want to make an exception, but Astro has the final say.

I found a not so local doberman club that I may email about tomorrow to see how active they are. Thinking of getting involved in showing. Would love it but terrified to do it!

The past couple days Cajun has not gotten out of bed until 3pm. Well, she gets up and eats breakfast like usual... and then back to bed. So mopey.

She needs to just not be in heat anymore lol I kind of want normal Cajun back.

Met dog. Loved her. Loved her loved her loved her.

She meets Astro tomorrow after work. If they hate each other I will be truly heartbroken.

Oh and by the way she's a young cattle dog mix. So. Not at ALL what I was looking for.

I love that Crossbone and Jack get along so well.

Due to a family emergency, this last week I spent very little time at home so the boys were alone or with Ken a lot. Jack's anxiety has reduced so much in the last two weeks, even with the circumstances. It's really good to see. <3

If it works out there will be pics galore!

She's a sprightly little thing. She's not at all what I go for looks wise (big meat-mouthed dogs) but she's growing on me. Looks like a potential cattle dog x Jack Russell or rat terrier, she's quite small and has the sort of small terrier build.

If you don't want her, just ship her to me, ok?

Haha I actually thought to myself when they first brought her in "lots of people on the dog forum would love her, she's totally their type!" I'm just not a light, lithe, herding/herding mix type person...but there's just something about her. She acted like she'd known me her whole life.

I just have to gush about Squash for a sec. He's just the best boy. I've been super stressed out lately and impulsively decided to go up north just for a quick day/one night overnight trip with him to clear the cobwebs. Road trip, wilderness hiking, staying the night in a hotel, first elevator ride, and a lot of walking in a busy tourist area, and he just goes from one thing to another with no problems whatsoever. I've worked hard with him but a lot of it is just him, his personality and genetics. Best boy.

Good boy, Squash!

(Also, that just sounds like an awesome little getaway).

Question of the Day: are they any breed specific forums that contain sane people?

I have been perusing breed forums. Everything hurts.

Border Collie Forum: "it is not a REAL border collie unless it came from a REAL sheep ranch with 100,000 sheep (those AKC breeders with their 500 sheep are just POSERS,) NEVER leaves the ranch to do "sports", or as we call it, THE DEVIL'S WORK, and above all NEVER registers with AKC aka AMERICAN breed KILLER CLUB, because when you register with those people they inject your dog's brain with a chemical that turns it into a black and white (or god forbid MERLE) GOLDEN RETRIEVER!!! And never EVER health test or socialize because those are just GIMMICKS meant to LURE IN THE MASSES *explosions and gunfire heard in distance*

Pit Bull Forum:
Poster-guess what everyone! Red Dog killed 8 dogs while on a walk today!
Forum-hahaha OH APBTS are such silly dogs!
Poster-but that's okay because my toddler likes to stab him with a steak knife and he just licks her!
Forum-aww how cute! the public will never fear him now!
Poster-aw man, i guess he was a dud. during his daily stabbing today he lifted his lip at junior.
Forum-THAT THING IS NOT RIGHT IN THE HEAD KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE
Poster-i threw it off the balcony and laughed as it screamed
Forum-*laughs*
Poster-so i went and got a new pup. he was the only one left in the litter because he killed his littermates. he loves people he's so stable!
Forum-*rejoices*

ANY Toy Breed Forum: *only allowed to respond to picture threads with declarations of how cute the dog is, the only question you are allowed to ask is how many ounces does she weight, and the only debate you are allowed to have is which color dress looks best with her coat color*

What Pit Bull forum would that be based on? The two most notable forums I know contain possibly the most sane people in the entire bully breed world, pretty much the polar opposite of that o_O

Lab forums be all like, "You cannot call that obese dog fat! It's just "big boned" and "thick furred" and it can still go on walks or swim and retrieve a duck once or twice, so it can't be at an unhealthy weight, right?! Not all Labs are field labs!"

Having a bench bred Labrador does not give you a pass to have an extra 10-15 pounds on the dog. Sorry. And field Lab does not equate healthy weight, either.
