I have seen some amusing justifications in my time, but people are ACTUALLY arguing that a lighter is a WEAPON??!!
Next time I hear of a lighter being used in a mugging, or a hold up - then I will get back to you.
A SPOON could be a weapon if you wanted to argue the point.
I'm sorry, but having a lit lighter put in your general direction - EVEN ON YOUR CLOTHES - does NOTHING. I KNOW this as fact - it's happened to me.... I had an ex who thought it was amising to try and set my socks on fire - the reason - it does NOWT.
I used to push his hand away and tell him he was a dick, laugh and then move on.
The INTENT behind "lightergate" was malicious - and yes, it was a cruel gesture.
The gesture itself was totally and utterly UNharmful.
So if she DID "fling her at a wall" and got suspended, then...... sorry, I'd hope so!
I'd also hope the "lighter wielding maniac" got punishment too.
Seriously - blown out of all proportion or what!
