Definitely not a turtle. Turtles are completely attached to their shells. If the shell is removed you go right to internal organs, no matter what cartoons try to portray...their ribs are fused into the shell as well...so no magical turtle without a shell would look that together.

Exactly.

Besides the fact that turtles don't have teeth, they also do not sport their genitalia on their abdomens like this critter did. Turtle genitals are housed inside the cloaca (or vent) located on the tail and are not visible unless they "flash" you. (Which by the way, is quite traumatizing.) :p

Actually they do

If you look at the tracks you can see the imprints left from the nails, they stick out very much the same as the nails on the "monster".

Nor do they have canine teeth like that .
I don't know how you figure that grammy... if you look at a racoon skull they certainly do have canine teeth.

unfortunatly ive seen enough rotting coon corpses to be able to say with little doubt that that is a very dead bloated racoon, somethings had a go at the cartilidge on the nose (crabs would be my guess) and its missing the upper teeth (normal for a corpse...)

but everythign else is a perfect fit!
