Interesting. They don't look like cat feet to me either, and nothing about it is "cat like" IMO.

I would like to read if they actually have the corpse, performed any type of autopsy, and what the findings were. IE, lungs vs gills etc....

yeah, that was in ALL the papers out here last week. I haven't heard if they figured out if it was a prank or not... people were trying to connect it to the montauk project or plum Island. Supposedly, they have it frozen at one of the government building somewhere...

oh, and from what people who saw it said, "It had a sea turtle face, with the body of a pig, and it was furry."

I see no beak. I see a mammalian...carnivore skul from which the front "skin and muscle" has been removed. It looks beaklike because the skin is missing and the bare bone is exposed.

I would say cat is a great guess or a brachiocephalic breed of dog like a Pug. There was not much muzzle...it could even be an otter depending on the size.

The feet are swollen and distended...and once death occurs skin pulls back from nails which is why they might look longer.

Hmm...lemme see, lol

I used to draw a lot so studied animal anatomy...I have whelped puppies (a messy experience where sometimes nasty things present that you have to figure out)...I watch animal planet ;)...I have examined dead animals on hikes, in a hands off way etc.

Death always has a story to tell and guessing what it is can make your mind work ;)

That body is grossly bloated...it might have been half that size, alive...the fact that it's so together...nothing ate it makes me wonder if it was something unpalatable tho with nature...it has to be pretty bad to be considered unpalatable by SOMEONE...LOL.

Basically what hounded said.

Though I'd have to go with a bloated turtle missing its shell. It definitely has a beak.

Oh and it's flicking us off too.

Only problem with a bloated turtle is that they don't have teeth.

I don't see any hair. I see sand on the carcass though.

And yah I saw the teeth, which is why I discounted the turtle once I thought about it.

But I don't know many mammals (assuming it does have hair I'm not seeing) that have a beak.

The conclusion seems to be that it is a VERY dead, VERY bloated raccoon. The size is gained from the fly in the picture. The skull is appearently a very good match up for a racoon skull with the teeth missing. Anyway, that's what I've read.

Yeah I just googled some raccoon images and the skull is indeed..VERY close. The body type too...and the busy looking hands...the bigger rear than front, etc. I'll certainly buy into that theory :)

HBH I actually thought of otter as well and was surprised no one else seemed to mention that guess. Definitely a mammal, not a beak just a broken skull. Could be a cat or dog.

Or what about a raccoon?
