Oh, total Pom...you liar! I thought you had a sheltie! Shows how much I should believe people over the internet. ;)

Someone thought that Chloe was a husky mix before (because of the blue eyes)

Yup, definately a husky...

Looks SO much like this...

It is awesome to see I am so not alone...

She does sort of have a fieldy look to her.. Not that I've ever looked at field bred cockers before...

My take is crappy genetics as she came from petland purchased by my ex-roomate, and was likely from the dunville puppy mill...

It's funny, because people will ask me what kind of dogs I have. I can understand them asking about Madison (since he is badly bred and out of breed standards), but my girls are to the standard.

I could understand if I had a less common breed, but c'mon- how can you not know what a chihuahua is?!

Because they look like real Chis and not the Paris Hilton accessories. Those have such a horrible look to them that the quality ones aren't near as recognizable.

May I ask why she gets a half-done haircut? I think it's cute, makes her look like she's wearing Uggs... you know, those boots!

I'd like you all to meet Ilsa. She's either a red nosed Pit Bull, a Greyhound, a Great Dane, or a Werewolf*. We're really not sure what she is...

I'd also like to introduce Ronin. He's either a Pit Bull or a Kelpie. Yup.

*and yes, some guy seriously told me that Ilsa was a werewolf. Because of her pointy ears and "red" lips and nose. And he wasn't joking.

I have had one person tell me that Dreyfuss, my Gernan Shepherd/Golden Retriever/Chow mix, was a Giant Schnauzer. I have also had people call Jack a Long Haired Dalmatian or an English Springer.

Here is my Giant Schnauzer

Here is my Long Haired Dalmatian.

few bostons

Yeah, I get that too with my boston. Then again you don't see too many bostons in my city, so I guess I can't blame them.
Yeah not a lot of bostons here either, but still...

I had some lady the other day tell me Oscar "Had to be Pug" because of his nose :)

OMG.. but they are gorgeous and drool worthy!!! Wearwolf.. wtf...

Cider has all the fur her little body will grow.. Last summer was the summer of the ugg boots though. Was my first venture into self grooming..

Now, she's all she can grow, but I'm shaving her head, face and throat.. and makign an attempt at the top little bit of her back (where mr jack@ss though my haircut was ugly.. since it's half a strip of stripped down fur right now.....)

my clippers hate me.. I'm getting new ones..

If you didn't say she was a Cocker, I could see a bit of springer in her. Less fur, longer face. Still, people's reactions are funny.

Sada, that is the funniest looking Schnauzer I have ever seen. Does it have any Schnauzer traits besides size? :D

Oh I forgot to add that the person who said Trey was a pom mix had a sheltie puppy on a leash with her. Apparently he's too furry to be a sheltie and they don't grow such long hair. Silly me! :lol-sign:

I think Cider is one pretty girl who could hardly be mistaken for anything besides a cocker! I have had people tell me that Hutch can't be a Saint Bernard because he has short hair- I can understand this one, most people don't realize that Saints can come in both rough and smooth coat. But the big kicker for me is when they tell me he must be mixed with something because he is TOO BIG to be a Saint Bernard!!! Huh?????? I don't understand people who feel the need to tell us what they think our dogs are, but really the joke is on us--- we didn't pay hundreds or maybe more for a designer breed AKA MUTT that we could have found in a shelter!!!

LOL, I love hearing all of these, some people have absolutely no clue what they are talking about :D

I mainly get 'What kind of dog is that?' or 'Hey, I've seen them on TV!', but one time a lady asked me if Frodo was a Yorki....

Nope. Leah and I couldn't belive it when we heard it. I had no idea I owned a Giant Schnauzer.
