I took Cider to a nearby park to play ball. They set up the tennis court nets today though, so it was busy. We see a 'goldendoodle' that lives down the street so we go to say hi, and theres another doodle dog with it...

They play a while.. It was really good for Cider.. but she keeps telling me I have a mix.. I'm like no it's really crappy genetics.. and then tells me my next dog should be a cockapoo, they are prettier.... There was a litter at whatever byb she got her dog from and they were gorgeous..

Then her hubby proceeds to laugh at Cider's half done haircut..

So while I have an exhausted dog, I'm in a really crappy mood. So many uneducated doodle folk...

 People are stupid. I love it when people try to tell me that my dogs are not what they are. Trey's obviously a mixed breed, not a sheltie, and his tail is obviously docked.

I think Cider looks like a Cocker Spaniel.

I probably would've gotten into an arguing match with them.

I would have punched her in the nose and him in the nuts, sorry but that just makes me mad  what idiots, they say your dog is a mix and ugly and make fun of her. You should have at least told them their dog was a mutt. i wish people could be educated :(

I tried to explain that in crummy breeding that the head goes first.. Cider lacks that plush cocker muzzle, and her ear set is a little high.. but conforms in the rest of the ways. Also spaying plus genetics has caused her to grow only 3" of coat..
A lady with 2 rescues at slobberfest last summer spent 10 minutes yelling at me last year that I obviously had a mixed breed too..
I'm not even sure what their dog was... It had a herder face, but a doodle coat..

Seemed to be one of those 'I'm an established adult and your 24' things. I'm quite happy Cider's exhausted now, but she was mighty belittling that I had moved back home. She was like oh we might call on you sometime to play.. you live alone right..

It's funny though because for me, my poorly bred sheltie never gets questioned. It's always the one who looks a whole lot more like a sheltie should that they never believe is a purebred. ???

LOL- I have SO been there.

People have actually told me "those are foxes- you shouldn't own them, it's illegal."

When I proceeded to tell them that "no, in fact they are a Japanese breed, called Shiba Inu," I literally had people say "no they're not."

Riiiiiiight. How do you even argue with someone like that? I just kind of stared for a moment then walked away.

Flicka looks like a purebred Golden (and for all we know, she is), but I get many questions about Pepe. Sheltie, chihuahua, papillion...those are usually the most common three.

But I've never had anyone argue about the breed. :)

wtf??? I don't know much about many breeds. I can recognize really easy ones (GSD, Golden, Dobe, Rottie, ChowChow, chi, dauschund) and even I can recognize a Shiba (and usually can even tell them apart from Akitas)

I know someone with Ibizans that gets asked if her dogs are part goat all the time. (they're both wires). I'd never underestimate the stupidity of people.

People aggravate me to :( Try explaining to people what Caiza is and that he is not a pitbull mix  I would be rich if for every person who thought he was mixed with pitbull gave me a quarter ;) I just have to laugh....I often get asked if he is a pitbull/akita mix to  ACD's are just a rare breed around here in Massachusetts so people automatically think he is some kind of mix. *oh well*

why would people argue with someone about what their dog is? They own it. I would think that the owner knows more about their dog than some stranger. People just do not do that around here. They ask first and if they were thinking something else say something like "oh, i thought he was a (insert breed here)." they do not argue for an hour, but then again it is more herding breeds and hunting breeds around here. some small dogs and a breeder 10mins away that breeds -poos, doodles, and other designer breeds.

Wow. I havn't had anyone do that to me before. Anyone that's mentioned Charlie only asked what breed he was, or talked about how much they love him.

I can't believe some people.
It seems like the designer dogs are getting more and more popular each day.:(

And I'm sorry you had a bad day, I'd feel pretty crappy too if someone was laughing and making fun of my dog. I think Cider is really gorgeous! :)

Eh, screw their opinions. Cider is absolutely beautiful. She has more expression than those people would have if they knew the truth, anyway.

Thanks AusCatDogs..

I'm not happy with our half done hair cut either, and usually a few days later it looks better anyhow... She was just so insulting about everything possible...

It's nice to see it doesn't only happen to me though.

I had a guy in petsmart when Cider was small argue for 10 minutes with me that Cider was part cavalier...

Oh my...I just almost spit out my water! I think I'd be tempted to say "yes".
AHAHAHAHAHA! Oh YES! I would love to see the person's reaction if you actually DID say yes. Would they walk through life forever saying "KEEP THE DOG AWAY FROM THE GOAT!!!"

I'm sorely tempted to start telling every one who thinks I own "purebred dingos" that they are...and that it's best to make sure they keep their baby far away...
