If I had a quarter for every time I was told my two weren't Cocker Spaniels. I would a rolling in the millions lol. Tuckers black and tan to obviously he MUST be part rott or something (*cough* *cough*). And Maggies so badly bred I mean there is no way she is pure bred (*rolls eyes*). I love stupid people lol they make life interesting.

LOL at the Shibas being foxes, and the Ibizans being goats!

I really don't understand why anyone would tell someone else what their dog is. They own 'doodles' and they're the ones telling you that your dog isn't a Cocker? Some people just make you wonder.

I actually had a lady argue with me that Zeus was a young great dane. I said no, he's a blackmouth cur. She rolled her eyes and told me to "just wait until he gets bigger." Still waiting.....

Heh heh, you guys are hilarious. I get lucky, nobody knows what a Keeshond is, so they don't argue when we tell them. They just simply say, "Oh," with a confused expression.

I wouldn't ever think Cider wasn't a cocker, its so obvious, and she's beautiful!

I think Cider is a pretty Cocker. :) But yes the genetics a are a little blah. I would have punched them.. But, its not worth it, people are just dog stupid, (some, not all) But Cider is very pretty. :) So don't let them get ya down, and let them be the dog stupid people they are.

Eh, I had a vet tech tell me one time that Sawyer was part Brittany. I just kind of looked at her and went "No...." and people will argue with me a lot when I tell them that he's an Aussie, not a Border Collie. He doesn't have blue eyes or a lot of copper to him, he MUST be a BC mix!

The lady who is fostering Virgo for me has a Basset/St. Bernard mix and she's started getting a lot of people asking her what his Designer name is and how much she paid for him.

ive been asked "why did you shave your pomeranian" when it comes to vixie (because of course all red small dogs with a somwhat long coat must be a pom.
papillions, poms, and "mutts" are common with my guys, not many understand that there are long haired chihuahuas. so i often get the shaved pom, and papillion x's.

I had one guy argue with me that litter 4.5lb Rosie is actually a german shepard puppy because shes red with black sable...hes like wow shes a small shepard...so i kindly told him, actually shes a long haired chihuahua and shes full grown. he adimantly argued for about 1/2 hour that id been had by the breeder (shes actually out of MY pair od long haired chis) and that give it a couple of months and rosie would be suprising us when shes eating us out of house and home and much bigger than she is... thus far shes holding steady at 4.5 lbs...worlds smallest german shepard perhaps?!

dodgers aparently a fennec fox because all light fawn dogs with a coat like him with big ears MUST be a fox?!

and all of them have been mistaken for "weird rodents" "rat dogs" and "squirrels?!" (though i did nickname them my pack of rabid squirrels! lol

rosie cotton...the worlds smallest "german shepard" HAHAHA

my vizsla is pretty good looking & friendly, so people come up to me ALL the time & ask me what she is. it's quite annoying when i'm operating a booth @ a show & I KNOW that this person isn't going to buy anything, they're just in the mood to chat, or lonely. if i tell them that she's a purebreed then the questions start. after awhile i just say that i got her some a shelter & she is some sort of mixed breed. also, my friend has 2 whippets, which are thin by nature. on multiple occasions, complete strangers have come up to & accused her of not feeding her dogs enough. what a bunch of morons!

WTF??

HOW do you mistake a Chi for a GSD???

It's not like either breed is particularly rare...what a dolt.

Hahaha- what is WITH people arguing with the OWNER of a dog about what breed it is?

They play a while.. It was really good for Cider.. but she keeps telling me I have a mix.. I'm like no it's really crappy genetics..
Forgive me since I don't know you/background on your dog. But is it crappy genetics or maybe Cider has field lines as opposed to show ones? You won't see any of those smushy nosed Cockers out hunting...

http://www.fieldcockers.com/ - has some photos of field bred Cockers

hmm I don;t know much about chis, but that is not a pom. LOL. I have a Boston Terrier that everyone swares is some kind pit bull puppy.... The land lord here tried to tell me "he would get to big" He's already full size (tall he will "bulk out" a bit as he gets older) I know Bostons have their history in fighting but come on he does not look like a pit.

80% of people i meet thinks that Ruckus is a BC, or an Aussie.
the word collie comes out sometime, but rarely sheltie. however i see why. he is the product of some bad breeding, even dispite having champion bloodlines.
