How do you guys deal with people who know it all, and "critique" your dog?
I tell my ex that he's made his dog (Shiva) fat and that she's already showing signs of having problems with her joints.

Then we tacitly agree to not pay the least bit of attention each other's opinion on the matter.

I feel so sorry for poor Shiva :(

One major thing I look at is coat quality. A dog not getting adequate nutrition, regardless of their body weight, is going to have a dry crappy coat, dry skin, etc. An supremely athletic lean dog that is well conditioned and fed well will have a nice glossy coat, like the dogs in pops' picture.

Right now I can feel Strider's every rib. He goes on 10-12 mile runs every day, with speeds varying from 12-35+ MPH, plus free play time. Part of the problem I think is his kibble though. He refuses to eat more than 3 cups of it a day, and has lost some weight on it and his coat feels dry and crummy so we are switching him to TOTW. He's on satin balls now too. I can feel the muscles in his shoulders starting to bulk up a bit finally.

Nice dogs by the way! Some day, it is my dream to put together a team of boar hunting dogs. Here in Washington it is free and open to hunt european wild boar any time, no license needed at all. The state wants them exterminated, but they just keep spreading.

Here is an athletic, condition Razor edge bully. There is no fat on her what so ever. She is actually quite famous in the pit bull community.

See, if I were an American Bully person I would expect to have a dog like that and keep him/her in THAT condition. But sadly, that is quite rare.

the ears are plenty big enough they just didn't heal in a way that makes them stand correctly.

Oh no, not my Razor, I prefer the real APBT. However, she is very famous in the pit bull community.
I am not usually one to knock a dog, but that dog is hideous. I compare her to some of the REAL pitties on here and she is just over done and over blown. Sure, she is in good condition but she looks like a small mastiff rather then a APBT

I just want to say that that bully is extremely stunning and looks quite athletic... if I were the owner, I would be very proud. The difference between APBTs and American Bullies is that pitties are not supposed to be bulky. They are not supposed to have bulky muscles. Muscle creates heat and too much muscle can cause a dog to overheat faster. APBTs are supposed to have STAMINA, as well as strength. They are supposed to WORK and never stop. They can go on for days. Its not all about just strength when it comes to APBTs. Thats why you will see them with muscles but never over done or bulky looking. And I can imagine that bulky muscles might hinder range of motion as well.

She's not an APBT....she's an American bully.

I don't think it is fair to compare this dog to say, Marty's lilbit or any other APBT for that matter. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Two different breeds.

I wouldn't call her hideous *shrugs*...not my type of dog at all, but she is probably the best conditioned American bully I have ever seen. Very pretty IMO.

APBTs are bred for performance, and American bullies are bred for looks... They aren't supposed to look like APBTs. So no, the dog above does not look like an APBT...and that's because she isn't one...she is an American bully. As long as the owner isn't calling her an APBT, who cares honestly. *shrugs*

I wouldn't call that blue dog famous. Can anybody here tell me her name? I've seen those pictures of her, and yes, she's in great shape. From what I've heard, she's raw-fed and on an exercise routine. But there's still no mistaking an APBT for am American Bully. And I think we should embrace the difference, not try to keep the lines blurry. JMO

My opinion too, Baha. Aside from the fact that they are NOT the same breed of dog at all, those blurry lines play right into the BSL nazis' game . . .

Ok, I live in SA. I have no idea what all these blurred lines are. To me she does not look as nice as some of the Pits here on Chaz. She looks aweful in my opinion.

that's is because she is a american bully, not a american pit bull terrier.

But I dont like the look of a american bully either.
