this is just some of the pups in my adoption area...The one person was great too...all sappy about how she was crying as she was writing the adoption thingy up because she was giving her baby away...should have thought about your lack of time to spend with the dog BEFORE YOU BOUGHT THE DOG!!! Okay, rant off...just an example of what bybs can do...for the record I think they look kinda like small Sharpeis which are cute little balls of wrinkle but I wouldn't buy one because of that.

You where just saying how cute you thought the puppy/dog was? By posting that here as long as you have been perusing and posting here you expected everybody to gush over the pics?.

I will not call you a troll but that was a trolling post.

Maybe im crazy but arent mixed and purebred dogs in shelters. One needs to think of what makes a dog desirable. Why did all of you buy your dogs.... looks of a breed, temperment, game. Pure breds sell for $1000+ easily, and this is fine for someone who desires a breed of its sort. I own a puggle and it is a great dog in "my" eyes. I do agree that selective breeding enhances a certain breed but with open minds a "puggle" (if it was named something else this thread would be mute) could become a respectable breed in time. Puggle breeding has nothing to do with dogs being destroyed, so shut up about it. If a puggle is selling for $1700 dollars then its not going to a bad home or a pound, the price tells you theyre desirable. Dog breeding itself adds to the population. You might as well cut it out with youre purebred snobery and only buy pound puppys or shut the h&!! up. Buying a $2000 GSD or any other breed still leaves a pup in the pound, but oh ya I forgot theyre mixed and what you bought was purebred so its justified. As far as temperment goes theyre both small and neither share dangerous, aggresive, or really negative traits that the other doesn't have so thats a non concern. I did not buy my pup from an shelter and I do feel bad for the other dogs that might not make it, what I did stlill wont save a dog off the street because mine could be in the same spot. Also alot of people like to raise a dog from a pup to make it there own not a 3 year old abused dog but to each there own and this does not reflect my opinon. Attack the breeders of all dogs, not the dog breeds them selfs. Wether you breed purebreds or mutts were all wrong if a single dog dies in the shelter.... or am i wrong.

your wrong youngr51 about alot. Purebred and mixed breeds end up in shelters, yes. However, if breeding was done correctly and responsibly then there wouldn't be as many shelter dogs. People wouldn't feel the need to get rid of their purebred with a temperament or health problem because these problems would not be so evident with everyone breeding properly (health testing, temperament testing, titles, up to/exceeding standards of the breed, etc).
Mixes would still be around, but not as the "designer dogs" they are now. There probably wouldn't be as many dogs in shelters...PERIOD...if designer mutts weren't being bred.

Why mix 2 breeds together? With all the designer doodles, puggles, etc there is no REAL reason. They are not being mixed to "better a breed" or "improve upon" some aspect or another. They aren't "hypoallergenic" or "no shed". There is no such thing as "hybrid vigor" that will get rid of the genetic health problems of the 2 breeds involved. They are not being bred for a "new sport" or "new use". So, what's the point?

Mixes do not need to cost $1500 + even if the parents were health tested, titled, etc. Mixes can't be registered with a reputable kennel club, they can't be shown because there is no conformation standards for them to follow and the "papers" these other "clubs" are offering amount to nothing more than knowing the parents lineage.

Any "mixed breed" breeder or bad purebred breeder (byb's) deserve to be shut down. A mixed breed breeder is doing nothing but creating more mutts and a bad (byb) purebred breeder is hurting the breed (no health checks, bad temperament, dog agressive, poor conformation, etc).

Hi youngr, you're new here. We do attack all irresponsible breeders, of both mutts and purebreds. Take a deeper look into some of the older threads before saying that we only love purebred "breeder" dogs.

$1700 does not by any stretch of the imagination guarantee that dog won't end up in a shelter. How do you think so many puggles/doodles/purebreds ended up there in the first place?

The main difference between a $2000 GSD and a $1700 puggle is that the GSD owner most likely bought from a reputable breeder who had an iron-clad contract agreement that stated the dog was to be returned to THEM and not dumped in a shelter if for any reason the person was unable to keep the dog. 99% of designer dog breeders out there only want the cash flow from the dogs and don't care what happens to them afterwards.

I stopped reading about here. If you cannot show respect when educating people or stating your opinion then you are not going to pursuade people at all. Regardless of the truth in the matter, you need to change your aproach.

Right on!! :hail:

I think the people here need to go help the homeless guy down the street instead of sitting here pissing and moaning about BYB. I know this makes you feel good about yourself, but get over it already.

If everybody who gets a dog would just take care of the **** thing, none of this would even be an issue. But instead, people see dogs as an object, not a life. Oh, somethings wrong with my dog, better bring it to the shelter cause I don't want to pay the bill. You idiots going to give away your children too if something is wrong? Don't think so. **** happens, be an adult and take care of your dog as if it were your child.

Getting a dog should be a life long commitment, no matter what! I don't know how many animals i've had in my life, and they've all been with me till the end.

I must go play with my 3 puggles now. :D Flame away!!! :lol-sign:

**blah blah blah blah blah**

None of you have given him any facts....Every single one of you has said nothing about them, except for how ugly they are.....Give him some feedback and some info not everyone yelling "OMG here we go, lets have popcorn....and OMG how ugly...I mean come on people
I agree Jess!! I have to say that I am so sick and tired of reading posts about how ugly this or that dog is not matter WHAT breed or MIX. I completely understand why someone would want to educate with a post but saying a puppy or adult dog is ugly just makes the point mute.. IMO.
If this was a purebred dog of any kind and someone posted a picture with a different topic, even those of you who don't particularly like the look would say it was cute. Maybe it's because I train so many mixed breeds, resuce and otherwise and while I appreciate the point, saying a dog is ugly just dirties the intention.
Puggles are the newest victims of the BYB craze and buying one would support the continued suffering. There are many unique looking mixes in the pound,/rescues.. puggles included, so using petfinder to find a new pal is always the way to go when looking for a dog or mixed breeding. Puggles, while mixes, are adorable even as adults...JMHO!

A border terrier is a breed though. A yorkie poo is not. None of the pups of any 2 purebreeds mixed together is a breed. Plain and simple.

Roxy - If you check out the forum you'll see I've been arguing. I called myself "YourAllStupidMixingDogs". LMAO :) I've ruffled a few feathers.
MATURE....
