I would be so pissed right now... I hope he gets out of there safely.
My cat, who lives with my mom, has lower urinary tract disease as well. It didn't get quite so bad that there was a ball of crystals backed up into him, but it did cause a nice blockage and some serious ****ing pain. He is on a special diet through the vet now that has helped him nicely.
Good luck with your baby. It's an AWFUL thing to deal with, but not the end of the world. Think of all those poor cats out there who have it and their owners just get angry at the cat for pissing all over the place and throw them into the shelter -_-
