Hi Tony... interesting pictures! (As everyone has stated.) You will not use a #30 or #40 on you pup. It was obvious that that is what was used, from your pictures. I imagine you were also unable to use the extensions because your puppy was matted or felting. Now that he's stripped, you'll want to use a light fitted dog jacket or t-shirt from the pet store, when you take him outside. As he's an apricot, you'll find that rubbing sunscreen on will not be enough. In approx. 3 weeks you should have some coat covering the entire body and this will be when you start mantaining him so you don't have to strip him again. He should be getting a bath no more than once a month. (have a feeling you're doing it more frequently) and he should be getting brushed daily with a light spritz of diluted leave-in coat conditioner. You also need to get a metal comb. This should be used after a brush out so you're able to find where he's still tangled. You will need to use a #4 blade to keep a kennel cut and a sufficient amount of fur, on this pup. Unfortunately, I don't think a #4 is something you should use after seeing this picture. You need to be very good at grooming before you start using skip tooths' and blades that can catch skin or nipples. Hope you'll go to a proffessional groomer to get you started on this. They can set a pattern for you, show you how to maintain and trim in between groom appts. and explain the different blades and how to use them. For now, you will just have to keep that naked baby warm! Lol Good luck!
