My mother was with her grandmother (our Nanny) when she was dying. In the days that led up to it, she was spilling old family secrets. For instance, she had had an abortion in the 40's after she had my mother's mom. Her first love was my Nana's dad, but they split up, and my Nanny got married to a complete and total jackass. He forced her to have the abortion. Anyway, as she was slowly dying, Nanny would grab a pillow and hold it saying, "They can't take you now. You are mine forever." My mom wondered what this meant, and asked around to other family members. Someone finally told her. After she slipped into her close-to-death mentality, she began showing her hatred for her husband. As far as anyone can remember, Nanny had always loved Papa and treated as royalty. But now, she told him to stay the hell away from her and never touch her again. Well, right before she died, she told my mom never to leave her side, and then she passed. After her eyes closed forever, a tear dropped from under her eyelid. My mom said she thinks it was a "happy-sad" tear. She was gone and she was happy for that, but sad for some of the choices she had made in life.

Clowns and overly large things that look at you. Such as one of those big Santa Clauses that people blow up to put in their yards. Freaky. And uncertainty. Such as when death will occur. Not the actual death, I'm not scared of that at all. Just uncertainty of when it will happen.
When I was a child I mean up until I think 6 and found out he wasent real I was scared of Santa Clause lol.

I feel physically sick if daddy long legs fly at me, my daughter is absolutely terrified of ET from the movie. even now at 21 she still gets the shivers when she see it. I too did not like clowns after watching IT, and cats eyes the film, that little troll played on my mind for a hell of a long time.

Centipedes and heights.
Instant panic attack with both. We had gone to Cedar Point in Sandusky a couple of years ago and I decided I would be okay riding the giant Ferris Wheel. It was the 4 of us and a guy with his maybe 6 year old kid. I was actually okay (I was not looking down, but I was okay!) until we got to the very top. And you know what happenend next. The thing stopped. The wind was blowing, just enough to make the cart start swaying. The kid decided to stand up and walk around to look out of the cart. Next thing I was sitting on the floor freaking out. That poor kid thought I was crazy, I could tell. Needless to say, no Giant Ferris Wheels ever again. And I avoid centipedes as much as possible. I just hate it when I can see one running on the wall at night and I am too scared to kill it.

I know exactly what that's like. I can't even look at bugs like that. I've woken up family members more than once to have them come "deal with" an insect problem for me. They always get really irritated when I ask if they'll let it outside instead of killing it. I don't want it dead, I just don't want it in my ear! Bless my kitties and puppies; they never object to being woken up to chase creepy crawlies for me. :)

The funny thing is, bugs are the only thing I can't deal with. I'm fine with snakes, lizards, birds, rats, mice, and all the other stuff that's supposed to give me the willies. I've had them all as snuggly pets. There's just something weird about bugs. I can't put my finger on it. You'd think a debilitating (sp?) fear would have some excuse behind it, but it doesn't. Just...guh! They're yucky!

Well, heights and I think a lot of foods are disgusting that everyone else thinks are great. This is a huge list, but I've been consistant since forever. What I hated then, I hate now. And yes, I did try them later and they still are as revolting as ever.

Tomatoes in any form totally creep me out. I hate the smell of them, too.
My mother says that as soon as I started eating baby food, I would push anything with tomatoes in it away, turn my head away, and get very upset if she kept trying to give it to me, so she quit. I was a late talker, I went from gibberish to speaking like a 5 year old over the period of a weekend and one of the first things out of my mouth that was understandable, I said when my grandmother tried to give me home made lasagna, and I started yelling "I hate that stuff, it tastes like PUKE!". My grandmother hadn't heard me ever really say anything understandable and it kind of freaked her out. My older sister thought it was hilarious.

Unfortunately for me, it seemed to get "Nana" started on a fixation to make me eat things I didn't like, regardless of how much I cried and hollered about it. She kept this up until she died when I was 8, almost 9. I was getting pretty fed up by that time, and was about ready to throw whatever it was in her face, she did it at least once every couple of weeks when my folks would go out. When she came over, and had her special rolling pin, I knew it wasn't going to be a fun meal. She made home made chicken and noodles. I don't like poultry and to this day, noodles what look like they are home made give me the creeps.

A short list of stuff that disgusts me (This doesn't include stuff I just don't like):

Cheese- any kind, but Cottage Cheese or one of the similar ones are the worst! The smell (and yes it does smell, how people can say it doesn't amazes me)
Tomatoes- Fresh, in sauce, ketchup, whatever, I want nothing to do with them and don't want to smell them either. I wish I could stand them, I get offered free pizza almost daily at work.
Ranch dressing. The smell..Jeezus!!
Mustard...yuck.
Coffee- just plain nasty tasting.
Just about any gravy or sauce, particulary if it's a cream type.
Cream of anything soup.
Peaches/nectarines...the smell alone is enough. Tastes even worse.
Dill Pickles...yuck.
Eggs- I don't care if they are in something, but like scrambled or sunny side up, forget it.

This goes on and on. I still have people who have known my for my entire life try to get me to "just try" something I have hated my entire life. They don't get it...

I wish that were true, but as far as I'm aware of, I'm not allergic, just repulsed. I sometimes say I'm allergic just to keep from having to "explain" that I wouldn't touch Pizza, for example, except at gunpoint, and even that's not a sure thing. For pure nastiness in general, Tomatoes are king, as far as I'm concerned. Mustard is right up there too, it smells worse than tomatoes. My dad put mustard on EVERYTHING, and he was totally mystified as to what I hated about it, even paying me 50 bucks once to try to eat a hot dog with it. I never even got one bite down and tossed up everything else I had eaten too.

Strawberries are on my, "don't like, but don't disgust me" list, along with poultry (Fried Chicken is tolerable, but I don't want it), Salmon, Tuna, Trout are all kinds of fish I don't want anything to do with, but could eat, if I was starving. Catfish and Walleye are my favorites, as far as fish goes. Any kind of the lighter colored fish is ok. Pie/cooked fruit isn't a favorite, but I like those crappy hostess cherry fruit pies, and cherry pie, if sweet, is ok, but other pie, like apple? I'll pass. I hate most veggies too, and don't want anything but corn out of a can. Peas, corn, potatoes, broccoli, are ok, anything else ranges from dislike (Yams) to disgust (Spinach, raw is tolerable, but cooked, yuck!)

I'm just picky I guess. But I'm not the pickiest person I know, I know a guy and a woman who make me look like I'll eat about anything. The guy eats, and only eats

Burgers
Steak
Potatoes
Raw carrots and celery
Chocolate
Fried Chicken
Chocolate milk

That IT. :D

Well since I have a generalized anxiety disorder I have lots of phobias. I am petrified of elevators although I force myself into them...count to ten...pray were at the floor I need to get off on. I also in the past experienced some debilitating agoraphobia. I am still not fond of large crowds, small places, busy small places. Movie theaters freak me out I worry about fire or some other bad thing going down and I won't be able to get out.
Thankfully most of my phobias I can count myself out of, that's my tool, counting to ten. If I still can't handle it I let myself out of the situation. Medicine has helped me come a long way as well. For years I couldn't work and I finally just finished school and am hoping to re-enter the workforce for the first time in about eight years.
My motto, I will not let my phobias infringe on my life experiences, if at all possible :D

I know a guy who eats nothing but pinto beans and cornbread for lunch every single day of his life, and if he had his way that's what he'd have for dinner too
That guy I know has had the same lunch for over 10 years now, one or two burgers (he cooks about 30 at a time on the grill, and then freezes them), carrrots and celery. About once a month, he has chips or fritos. But always burgers. I'm not that stuck on something, but I could probably eat catfish 5 days a week with no problems.

I'm another clown person and also ventriloquist type dummies - they freak me out. Also feeling trapped - claustraphobia. I had my worst experience one year when I tried scubba diving and had a panic attack under the water.....the instructor wouldn't let me go up, although I was motioning like mad that I wanted to because my ears hurt like hell, and I felt really trapped and started hyper ventilating......now just the thought of swimming under water makes me nervous....
