A couple people have mentioned checking that the stove is off and the doors are locked. I do that but I also check the hall closet to make sure my cats have locked themselves in. The cat food is in there so when ever someone opens the door they run in. It's driving me crazy but it is the only place in the house it can be put.

I'm afraid of death..but it's not that death scares me...I guess I don't wanna feel pain when time comes...it's the pain that I'm afraid.
Oh...and I'm really scared of the dentists!

guess i must be the weird one..i like all nature..yeah bugs, snakes, beetles are beautiful.i love to draw mice and rats...and i do not know how anyone could be scared of moths or butterfies..or birds ( i was suprised no one wrote that one down) ..i don't worry about the door and seldom use the stove except to make tea..and i know i turned it off..height does give me vertigo..not so much for myself but we have a tall balcony at my my mom's and when the children get to close to the railing my knees feel weak and i get a tingly sensation..needles aren't a big deal and death ..there are times when it would seem a relief..so i guess except dentist (i don't know if real based fear = a phobia) i don't have any phobias. I find clowns annoying..but that is about it..and i love haunted houses...

Clowns and overly large things that look at you. Such as one of those big Santa Clauses that people blow up to put in their yards. Freaky. And uncertainty. Such as when death will occur. Not the actual death, I'm not scared of that at all. Just uncertainty of when it will happen.

Phobias aren't just things that give you pause, though. Everyone has things that scare them. Phobias are irrational fears.

pho·bi·a
n.
A persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of a specific thing or situation that compels one to avoid it, despite the awareness and reassurance that it is not dangerous.

i have been with dying people..they are not scarey..they are leaving. It is an eeirie but often very calm and mysterious experience. The shock is the second the spark has blinked out..how much is gone..the whole package is in front of you and none of the person you loved or you knew..is there. SO much and so nothing all at the same time..i get the same feeling as watching a pup be born..a miracle each and every single time.

I don't fear death....it's something that will happen to all of us. What I fear is the pain of those left behind , which I don't want. There should be no pain as the passing of a loved one should be a celebration of their life ....we weep not for them, but for ourselves . We'll miss them. But, if you live your life like your loved ones could go tomorrow ,you'll have no regrets. Never, ever, have to say " I wish I had "....do it !! Think of yourself as a Oak grown from an acorn...and from you, more acorns turn into trees.......eventually the old Oak dies, but the trees complete their cycle. If the Planner of the earth did this for trees, don't you think the same plan is in store for us ???

And just a side-note to Bubbatd's post (she's my Mom)... I had dinner at her house tonight. My sister, her husband, their son, and all our dogs were there, too. We were sitting outside on the deck and the light in my Dad's bedroom (right on the corner of the house the deck's built into) would flash on and off during our laughing and playing. I SWEAR, it was HIM!!! That's never happened before. Mom checked the electical connections and everything was fine. I think he was there in spirit and trying to tell us!!!
