Four of mine are pretty original, I haven't met another Kiba, Stryder, Tsuki, or Lincoln - except for Romy's Strider.

Charlie is pretty common.. for a boy. :rofl1: Haven't met another girl Charlie.
I know quite a few Kibas, anime fan owners.

I have yet to meet another dog named Takoda on the forums or IRL. Though most people think she's Dakota and I have to correct them A LOT.

Beau has a common name that was shorten from his uncommon real name which is Mr. Bojangles.

I have a list of names for future dogs and like to keep it a secret :p

Since I was little, I had always wanted a border collie with blue eyes to be named "Blue".

In July, Bloo fell into my lap.

Dammit, pit bull.

I wouldn't call Mr. Bojangles uncommon at all.

There are some common names that are just too good to care about commonality of them.

I will use Jack & Sam at some point probably. Good solid names with plenty of nick name potential.

This is how I see it too. I just love a name and find it too good to use - even if it is common for dogs.

Another couple that I would love to use include Gus and Jess/ie. Jessie is an extremely common name for dogs in Australia - it could be elsewhere as well - but I still love it.

I'm not sure if anyone here from Australia remembers the 'Are we there yet?' ad with Gavin the koala? I am always trying to get my friends to name their new pet Gavin, because it's an awesome name and I'm not cruel enough to bestow it on my own pets. In the ad, just the way the mother koala says 'Gavin!' so exasperatedly is so funny and sticks in your head.

My friend has a cat named Kevin, that's pretty close. :p I think it was named after our former prime minister (as a joke of course).

I love the name of our team fish.. Mr Snicklefritz
One of Mom's cats was called Snicklefritz, all 20 lbs of him. He looked like a big, gray raccoon (only had tabby stripes on his tail, forehead and legs).

Oh, even "Trent" seems to be hard for people to understand. My next door neighbors (who see him regularly) spent 3 years thinking that his name was "Prince". They moved away last year and I never ended up correcting them - he could have done worse :p

I've never been able to introduce Trent without repeating his name or spelling it out.

Same thing with Frag and Recon. Many people at the dog park think they are Fred and Reeka. :p If if can't tell they have it wrong when introducing them, then I don't usually correct people. Lol. I often have to spell them both though.

I tend to go for human names...but not common human names. Macie, Zander, Dante, Gustav, Eve, Indy....and they all have a catch or a theme. Macie is Macie Arwen (LotR), Zander is Zander Amaroq (roughly translates to wolf man, man of wolves, ect). Eve was Eve Elle (evil) and Indy was Indy Anna (Indiana).

Next puppy we have name chosen, registered name chosen if breeder chooses to use it, but we won't know the catch or theme until we meet her, of course.

We had a litter of puppies with Glee names! Quinn, Rachel, Puck, Finn, and Schuester! I think Schuesters owner changed his name to Sam which worked as well ;p
Riot's brother was originally Finn, and they changed his name to Jesse (Jesse St. James). :p
