Taken, schmaken.

If I grew up knowing one of my parents friends had a kid with the same name as me, I wouldn't give a schizzle.

It's a name, if you like one, and someone else likes the same one, it's not the end of the world.... my ex just called his baby Lilly, and I love that name, wouldn't rule it out just because he happened to have a kid before I did!

That what I keep smacking myself in the head and saying.

I like Liliana, too...and LOVE Lily. I would use it but it wouldn't work with our L last name. A friend's sister's daughter isn't THAT close to you and I would just use the name anyway. If it's not a best friend's child or a sibling or other close family member, I don't think it's wrong to use a name you love. Plus, it's not the same exact name
I agree.

There was kind of a "race" in my family when everyone started having kids... everyone wanted the name Spencer if it was a boy after my dad's brother who was killed in a car accident many many years ago.

well my cousin had the first boy and of course she took the name Spencer. Now my brother has ALWAYS wanted to name his son Spencer as he is one of the only kids that actually got to meet uncle Spencer (he died waaaay before I was even a twinkle in my dad's eye) and his middle name is Spencer after our Uncle. he really wanted it but thought that maybe he shouldn't use it because our cousin had already named her son that. so they thought long and hard about a name for their son but all roads led back to Spencer... so now there are two Spencers in the family and no one cares :)

You are right.

Her name isnt Lily (they call her that for short), its Lilian. So its not the same name anyway.

Liliana Faithe Wright

Ooooh, I like the way that sounds. I'll have to let my fiance know that I found a nice name when he gets off work tonight. I hope he likes it.

If you like Liliana, do you like Lila (Lilah)?
I do like that as well.

The reason why I didnt want to use the same name already taken by someone I know is that I dont want to seem like a copycat when there are thousands and thousands of names out there. Maybe that doesnt make any sense. Probably because I am just weird.

But anyway, I think Liliana IS different from Lilian, so it doesnt really bother me much after thinking about it.

Crazy. Not sure whats up with celebrities and the fad for naming their children ridiculous things. It must be a competition to see who can come up with the most unusual.

You have a lot of good names there. I strongly urge you against odd spellings, though. The poor child will endlessly have to correct everyone about how to spell it, and people will endlessly mispronounce it.
I very much agree with this. My name is Britni Nikol and everyone always misspells it, or mispronounces it.

When it comes to names, I really prefer old fashioned names. I'm not a fan of some of the crazy names people come up with now. My favorite girls names are Hannah, Danielle, and Emily.

There are some really crazy names out there, but some are really pretty. I've always loved the name Antheia, who is the goddess of flowers and flowery wreaths worn at festivals and parties in the greek mythology.

Another name I really like is Galene, also a greek goddess, who stands for the calming sea.

that's very inspirational, and we do hope his daughter is inspired by the ocean to become expansive, rather than becoming huge, salty and smelling of fish.
lmao!
