Yep, I definately think that they are too similar. I like having the two middle names be really close, though. All the women in our family (my mom and her sister and their daughters), all have one-syllable middle names, so they sound pretty close.

I'm horrible for bad associations with names. I can't hear the name "Owen" without hearing the old lady from "Throw Momma From The Train"! "Paul" makes me think of my mullet-haired cousin! It's amazing how one person can ruin a perfectly nice name!

I think the best nick for anastasia, is "Stasia"...
I've alwways liked V names...Viveca, Vivian, Veronica, Victoria.

I am also bad for associations...there's a book out that is VERY interesting...it is simply a book of name and alongside each is the result of a HUGE survey done on people as to what "image" comes forth when they hear the name. Super interesting and not really far off on most.

Well, If I had ever had another girl we would have named her Claudia Rose. I have no furether use for the name since six kids is more than enough.

If you like Anastasia, I had a roommate named Athanasia (pronounced Ah-tana-SEE-ya), her nickname was Sia, which is pretty short and nice. I know another lady, "Patricia" who also goes by Cia.

There was a really sweet girl I knew growing up named Victoria, she went by Tori which I thought was a cute nickname.

I like the name Taylor. Me saying it's popular down here was by no means an insult. In fact, when I was growing up, I always said I'd name my little girl "Taylor Nicole." I just LOVED it! And then, we I was 17, my good friend got pregnant and guess what.....yup, Taylor Nicole came to be. She stole my name. (but it's all good ;) )

It's what YOU like, not what we like.

Heck, another friend of mine just named his daughter "Kylee James". The "James" is after his fiance's father. And I like it.

I thought of a cute one as I was waking up this morning. I think it might be getting more popular, but it's not quite there yet, I don't believe.
My best friend named her daughter this (her daughter is 11): Avery.

I also like: Isobel
But I'll be using Isobel either for my future daughter (HA! is NOT going to happen) or for any future female dog I get.

I came across one I like yesterday. Liliana. BUT its too close to a friends sisters daughters name... Lilly.

I hate it when all the ones I like are taken. I am about ready to say SCREW IT, and use a taken name anyway. LOL.

Rylie is taken
Victoria is taken
Vanessa is taken
Cassie is somewhat taken
Madilyn is too close to Madison
Robin/Robyn is taken
Lilly is taken
and there is more that I cant think if at the moment

That leaves me with Taylor which is also taken by someone who knows my fiance. lol.

I like Liliana, too...and LOVE Lily. I would use it but it wouldn't work with our L last name. A friend's sister's daughter isn't THAT close to you and I would just use the name anyway. If it's not a best friend's child or a sibling or other close family member, I don't think it's wrong to use a name you love. Plus, it's not the same exact name
