I probably shouldn't say 'men', but rather 'man'...mine. after watching 'Dancing with the Stars', I had a brilliant idea this morning that we should learn how to dance. soooooo, I mention it with glee. suddenly Dave's face fills with pain.....more pain than if he were grabbing his chest suffering 'the big one'. (I actually think he was on the verge at that moment) he manages to croak out a little broken 'what????' DANCING, dear...how fun would that be?!! just imagine yourself doing the 'quick step'! he calms down a bit and says 'tooo bad there isn't anywhere around here, oh well'. 'I can find somewhere, dear!!!' last I saw he was running to his truck...I think he laid a little rubber in the driveway. hey...didn't I suffer thru that bowling league for 3 years even after learning it wasn't about drinking....but that they actually expected you to bowl?????? YES. am I not the person that falls asleep propped up against the plywood in Home Depot while he looks thru EVERY 2X4 there with a magnifying glass??? YES am I not the one that pretends it's fun to look at a bunch of old cars at something called Cruisa Palooza (yes, it's a big event around here) knowing that if I wanted to look at an old car I could just hang out in the comfort of my own garage while in my jammies??? YES so....what's a little 'quick step'??? I better change my tactics and bring this up at a prime moment later. :D

Ungh...you know that's the bane of man right? Cause we always mess something up. And it's not much fun either, not for some of us.

I took a lesson with my sister over the summer cause she wanted to learn to do this dancing style that's like western but crossed witht eh jitterbug, it's crazy.

Anyways, being a male I was expected to have all this manly man strength and throw her around like a toy. She's 145 pounds. I'm 140 pounds....yah that went well.

Anyways I didn't go to any more lessons after that. They actually expected me to work out to get more muscle so I could do it easier. Ha...work out, good one. *yawn*

Wake up Debi, you're dreaming!!!!!! I've actually had the same dream. Do you remember where I met Carl? At a singles dance!!!!! Does he dance? Not really. Now can we take lessons? No, bad knees! Seems like all out husbands should go over to Manworld with Dave and hang out so they don't have to listen to us.

We men have fragile egos, don't let us ever convince you otherwise. Doing something like that, when you KNOW you can't, is rough.... Even for the person you love.

Tanya will tell ya, the ONE time I danced with her (so far, we have yet to have our "formal" wedding) I was VERY not sober. LOL

Women can pull off the "I can't really dance, but I will stand here and move my bum" move OK. Men... CANNOT. LOL We look like tools trying to dance when we can't.

My looney.

Dream away, Debi ! If Dave is anything like Tom was , he's as light on the floor as a sack of bricks. My boy friend before Tom was a wonderful dancer and would lead so beautifully as he swung me around the floor. Then two-step Tom came along...........

I had flashbacks of times Dave has danced........it wasn't pretty. I think I'll drop it. he left me Girl Scout thin mint cookies this morning...I can be bought. (a little strange since we don't know any Girl Scouts...nah, won't even wonder) it's true.......chocolate is a magical, amazing substance. :) :) I haven't had a cookie since I snitched a couple of his mom's at Christmas...I think I'm having a sugar rush.

12 beer (or shots of whiskey) are required to get any self-respecting double-left-footed man to agree to dance. A further 12 or more beer/shots are required to ensure said double-left-footed man will actually follow through with said agreement **notice at this point 'self respecting' has been left out**.

I guess I'm lucky in that my husband is a good dancer. Not great, but pretty good. We still go out dancing from time to time. But I think he'd draw the line at lessons.

I'm lucky in that the only thing holding us back from dance lessons is money. Otherwise I already have his word that he'd take them.

Come on guys... Advantages to danceing:
You get to lead, be in charge, direct (does that really happen elsewhere?)
Everyone starts out bad, you will get better, that is why they are called classes
If you can dance every girl will want to dance with you.
If you can dance every guy will secretley be jealous because every girl will want to dance with you.
Dancing is sexy
Women LOVE a man who can dance.

Movies that show a man dancing:
Dirty Dancing (patrick swayze was HOT)
Blast from the Past (Brendon Frazier was too CUTE and he is HOT)
the one with Jennifer Lopez and Susan Sarandon and what's his face. (he started out dancing bad but he took classes and got better)

Something to think about. :)

I can think of a few places... ;)

If you can dance every guy will secretley be jealous because every girl will want to dance with you.
We talk about guys who dance... But it ain't out of or about jealousy. :)

Dancing is sexy
IF you can... If you can't, it is rather ANTI-sexy. LOL

I don't see how references to movies with "metro-sexual" men in them helps your case here... You know, convincing MOST (not all) guys to give it a serious try.

"Yeah honey, you could be like Patrick Swayze.... Honey? HONEY?!?!? Now where did he run off too????"

;)

:p

yeah...the times Dave has danced with me were under specific beer requirements. the problem I had is that I knew I had a very, very small window between him feeling 'relaxed' enough....and looking like someone who won't remember the event tomorrow. I never could remember....was it after beer number 5, or 7??? obviously I miscalculated quite often. it's hereditary....his brothers dance the same way....arms out....feet going in different directions. he did laugh this morning and say, 'come on Deb...you'd NEVER trust me to lift you'. maybe he has something there. :D

Didn't google it. It made the round on some motorcycle forums and was posted there.

What they googled, though, I don't know.

True. However my experience has often been that of women loving men who know their limits - and who don't embarass the women they're with. :D

...........this is not a good way to sell men on dancing at all. If you search the forum, you'll find Patrick and this movie have been discussed - and the male perspective is NOT flattering.

....he was good in the 'mummie' movies. Funny adventures which should not be clouded by images of him dancing.....PLEASE, don't wreck that for me!!!!

....we're safe here. J-LO is reason enough not to watch a movie.

I'll stick with my first statement in this reply ;)
