I agree with everything Kady has said. If people think I came off as a jerk, combative, etc. in my post... well that's dandy. I'm not a "sugar coating" type of person... you'll get exactly what I think
I agree that people who use dog parks are lazy. 90% of people using them come straight home from work, grab Fluffy who hasn't done ANYTHING but sit at home for 9 hours, and let them loose at a park around a bunch of strange dogs. Then act surprised when something bad happens?! Yes, I agree that taking your dog ANYWHERE is a risk - but you lose control over that risk factor when you unleash your dog at a dog park. Taking your dog for a walk, or letting them run off lead somewhere secluded just does not carry the same risk. To me, it just does NOT make sense! If you live in a city, you probably have sidewalks... is it too much effort to WALK your dog on a leash for a few blocks? For those who say being at a dog park is their dog's ONLY chance to run around off lead - there ARE other options. Overall though, dog parks ARE the lazy answer and are more of risk to your dog than most any other activity you could do with them.
